unfamiliar is a ttrpg where the players take on the role of former magic familiars, who must now venture into the world as a pack of stray animals. Combining a rules light system with a creative, open-ended magic mechanic, the game is designed to promote rich storytelling while still capturing a bit of old-school fantasy flair. A modified depthcrawl system, dubbed a horizon-crawl, also helps to flesh out a world to explore, with an emphasis on using distant landmarks to drive gameplay, and embracing the unique challenges and viewpoint of non-human characters.
