This is a Pathfinder Demo for the game.

Its just a portion of the cake, but there is not "dulce de leche" in the middle yet.

What you can do in this build is:

  • Walk around watching and feeling the setup of the enviroment and art.
  • Fight mobs in their spawns with the only weapon available, and the one and only attack yet implemented.
  • Hype! but there is no point in hype for a game that is not gonna release not sooner than in five years if ever comes out.
  • Give your feedback on what you expect from the game, and think of the idea of the game. Because there is no game yet, just an idea.

Versión 0.1.1: (file deleted to save space)

  • Paths implemented: now the player will know where to go, and where to find something interesting.
  • Castle accesible: now the door of the castle points out to the camera, so the player can get out easily and enter faster.
    • I also implemented a way to walk up in the castle without loosing the ability to get out of the castle.
  • Items lootables: now you can loot items by getting close to them, useful at the start and when your weapon breaks, yeah they break now and disappear, but you can always get a new one in the town or in the world, if you discover enough.
  • Enemies but not stalkers: now the enemies doesn't follow you to bed, unless you find them first, then you are the stalker and need to be punished
  • DamageAnimation: now the player and mobs plays animation when are being attacked.

Have fun and share your thoughts, they doesn't hurt i wish. : )

Versión 0.1.2: (file deleted to save space)

  • Skill effects testing.
    • Now you attack make an effect on the ground that damage the enemies over time.
    • This is a pathfinder implementation to see if is suitable to do it this way.
    • There will be 3 levels of skills:
      • First only affect the ground and make cc and/or damage over time.
      • Second will spawn onto the areas of the first level skills and making them stay more time and have some effect.
      • Third will make an even powerful skill out of the level 1 and 2 combined and make a lot of damage. 
    • For now only a level 1 skill is implemente and it does 5 damage per hit aprox to the resistence of the mob.
  • Fixed a bug of the hitbox in the enemy. Now they are only hit by the weapons and skills.
  • Now you have a weapon at the start so you don't just walk around without knowing what to do.
  • Now you can attack with Q or also with Right Mouse button. Skill will automatically spawn on your mouse cursos position.
  • Follow the paths and maybe you have surprises, there some kind of portal in the South of the Fortress.

Version 0.1.3: (available to download) please share feedback : )

A lot of things changed, but still a Pathfinder build, but now the feedback would be really nice to have.

  • Skill effects improved, now the effect is smaller but there is a second skill after the end of weapon combo that is bigger.
  • Weapon combo added, now the attacks will have diferent animations and speeds, there are 3 diferent attacks and the last one when running will trigger an automatic skill exactly like the skill added before.
    • There are two combos, one when walking and one when running. You can combine the both changing the speed of the character.
    • There is animation cancel but its not at purpose. If feedback is given maybe it stays or it goes.
    • The third attack of any combo will hit in a bigger area so it feels like a finisher attack.
    • The damage is the same for now.
  • Now you can tp to another map if you find the right path.
  • The skill now is triggered with the W key.
  • The attacks are triggered with the Q key and the right mouse button.
  • Enemies have a knockback when hitted by any damage.
  • The weapon now has more resistence, but still broke. 
    • This will change in the future, weapon will first be damaged so you are urged to repair them.
    • In the future if a weapon damaged is not repaired it can be broken and lost. The levels will be conserved to be transfered to another weapon of level 1.
    • You can get a new weapon in the town.
  • Now the crystals dropped by the enemies killed will heal you 20 of life so you can grind the game without dying all the time. 
    • You can still die and the game will reset.
    • Someday i will add spawn to not loose all the progress made. There is no much progress to do yet.
  • Graphics where improved a lot.
    • Water feels more natural. If by natural it looks exactly like the water in my town and it is not drinkable at all and the color is brown.
    • Now the bright objects will make light.
    • The demo is shipped with the lowest graphics possible right now.
    • You can change the settings in the folder of the game: "Hera 0.1.3\Windows\ProyectoHera\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings" by editing the file at hand. Just put 3 where there is 0 so it will look nicer.
    • Shadows where left on so the game feels good.
    • The game requires at least 2GB of vram aprox. and a GPU better than a GTX 750. This is an estimation by watching the usage in my PC it can change on other PC. Feedback is welcome.
  • The game has now a UI but its a pathfinder, just like the rest of the demo. 
  • There is now Mana on the game and the weapon level and exp is shown in the UI.
    • Weapon level up but doesn't change the stats yet.
    • The skill in W will use 25 of the 100 mana, so you can use it 4 times. The mana refills automatically.
    • Skill in the 3rd attack of running combo will also use mana and not trigger if there isn't enough.
