Terms of use not found. When found, unusable assets. Can I get a refund?

I purchased some assets recently. I coudln´t find the Terms of use anywhere but I purchased them anyways. I then managed to find the Terms of use (I had to go to another website for this) and they stated that I had to ask for "Written permission" for the use intended. I wanted to make printed posters of maps (like Inkarnate) and the Terms of use were vague and not specific about that type of item, just mentioned mugs, cards, etc. When I emailed the creator for the permission, he/she refused it nicely first but when I questioned how it was not specified in the Terms of use and how difficult it was to find them, he/she became passive aggressive with me. When I asked for a refund and I stopped communication with Itch.io, he/she changed the policy straight away, making an indirect reference to me as "low effort middleman" and assuming I was looking for a quick cash grab from the assets. It seems that the person got triggered by my intended use for the assets, with I don´t really understand.

I don´t see the difference between making a videogame and any physical or even digital (wallpaper or scene) with digital assets. I have never had any problems like this with other authors, their policies being open to any commercial project and with the obvious and respectable restrictions (no redistributing, no reselling as own edits). If I make a poster out of a digital scene made with assets, it is even harder to copy those assets than buying a game and extracting them from the main files.

In any case, would it be possible to get a refund?. I will stick with the other assets I have from good creators and the ones I make myself.
