I'm the admin of the FreshGaming Discord Community.  As a major proponent and supporter of awesome indie devs, I always seek to help improve the games industry by not just calling out the BS but promoting positive and meaningful changes when I can.  Everything related to that is still an ongoing process but I put forth as much effort as time permits.

The unfortunate aspect of all this awesomeness has been so many awesome games being utterly forgotten & unplayed/unloved due to a lack of even a single YT video showing off gameplay.  My current ISP implements data caps because regional monopoly & terrible US corporate-favortism laws so I do feel the pain that many of my Canadian and Australian gamers feel when it comes to such matters as file sizes.

Furthermore, for my personal IRL stuff, I've barely had time to play any games let alone ones that come out on a near-daily basis.  Fortunately, one of my members has come forth to volunteer their services as a game reviewer.  They've made videos on their channel previously and they are both a gamer AND a fellow indie developer!  They're hard at work on their primary/current game project, but as many game developers may attest, it helps to relax a bit in-between intense coding sessions.

Currently their interest lies in having content for their streams/channel as well as being able to get their own games/branding more visible in the marketplace.  I'm effectively the 'middleman' so as to mitigate potential bias and to filter out the worthy games from the demos and first-year game projects that clutter various storefronts.  I'm the gatekeeper as to what gets reviewed and what gets forgotten when it comes to these YT videos as time is precious and I'd like the best possible games to be noticed and appreciated by potential consumers/gamers.

So here are the rules for this thread and for consideration to be considered for a YT review

--You must post an open declarative statement on your website and/or social media that states that you "permit a worldwide royalty-free irrevokable commercial-use license to utilize any and all audiovisual content for your game for the explicit purpose of review/criticism/commentary in any medium/website now known and/or developed in the future".  This is something that should apply for everyone and not just one particular reviewer.

--You understand and agree that ALL content created will NOT be subject to censorship/editing other than to remove objectively-false information present within the build of the game that has been provided for review at the time of review.  Please get in touch if you feel any objectively-false statements have been made and we'll work it out from there.

--You understand and agree NOT to utilize any DMCA, copyright strike, or similar punitive punishment methods on YT to censor critique/criticism.  I guarantee that any developer willing to do that will experience the Streisand Effect and it will not be a pleasant experience for anyone involved.  If any developer has concerns or questions about the video posted, they are to contact us and have a chat.  Above-all, the videos shall strive to be honest impressions/review without holding back on harsh critique where warranted.

--You understand and agree that your game is 100% YOUR original work and all content is something you hold copyright on.  You also agree that it isn't a clone or almost-derivative.  I'd prefer not to have the PC games market become another glut of garbage like the mobile games market.

I don't particularly enjoy super-lengthy posts so here's the final bit.
All decisions, contact, and consideration shall be conducted primarily via Discord.  Any/all decisions made by myself (or other staff on the server) are FINAL.  Please conduct yourselves professionally and accordingly.

To get started, please join up in my FreshGaming Discord Server and let me know that this post sent ya so that I can provide you the requisite GameDev role.

For those who have actually read this far, be sure to send me a PM with the following code: "golden potato" to unlock a secret easter egg!

Quick Addendum:
-No web-only games (HTML5 only without any downloadable native version)
-No mobile-ported games (PC should be the primary development platform; otherwise not interested)
-If your game is paid, then please be willing to provide a single review code for the reviewer to use; once the video is out then you may feel free to revoke said review code if you desire to do so.
-Any/all videos may be monetized at the sole discretion of the reviewer; this is why that declarative licensing statement is necessary.

No discrimination to other platforms, however some filtering has to be done to provide a well-curated showcase of the best that itch.io has to offer.

I made a small game as part of an ARG [alternate reality game]. It's a short horror experience, and leads to the hunt.
