Starting our own Indie Game Studio

Apologies if this is a silly question, but I am just starting out, and am unsure of how to really ask this:

I'm working on a project right now, nearly all by myself, but with the occasional help from a couple of close friends.
When starting to set up my game page, Itch told me I needed to select my payout method, which led me down this rabbit hole of trying to figure out if I need to classify myself as an Indie Dev "studio" and if I needed to write up paperwork, or anything regarding that. This is something I am pouring a lot of time and energy into, but I am still super green and want to not get myself into a mess or have to fix stuff later.

Any and all assistance/ info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

An independent studio is a company, you must have it registered with the tax agency in your country and it must have its ID to pay taxes.

If you identify yourself as such, then when processing the tax interview, the tax ID must match the rest of the data, otherwise you will have problems when validating the data.

If you do not have any of these, then you are a natural person selling (the most common thing to find on Itch).

If you want to create a studio, it is best to consult with someone who knows the laws of your country, in order to avoid any legal problems.

Thank you so much!
