Uploading Godot Windows exe not working

Currently in the GMTK Game Jam. trying to upload our game. We are using Godot, and are able to export the game and run it locally with no issues. However, as soon as we try and upload the game to itch and redownload it, it doesn't work. Instead, the game just appears to be a grey window with nothing in it. Since the game runs fine before we upload it, itch must be doing something to change the file and break it, but we have no idea how or why.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Itch does not modify or alter the files you upload.

The problem is on your side and it sounds like you have something misconfigured in godot.

Try copying only the exe that exports godot (without uploading it to Itch) to another folder in windows and try to run it and you will get the same error.

Without any additional information, I have to guess, but I'm betting that you are testing your game from the Godot IDE and you are running a different scene than the one you have as main, hence the exe you export does not work.
