I finally got to the Bad Sun event, but it started raining. At first I thought it was cool that the rain protected against the sun, but when it went away I still wasn't taking damage. I'm not sure if the sun no longer does damage or if this is a bug because the rain had messed up the sun. Link is to what I'm talking about. Apologies if links aren't allowed or this is the place to bring this up.

Bad sun eventually stopped damaging me as well. Dunno. Might be intentional. It pulled my vision towards it after it stopped dealing damage.

Was playing on Solar and it stopped both damaging and pulling vision at some point too

Bad Sun and Solar mode seem to be quite buggy on this version.  Sometimes in Solar the sun seems to go back to normal.
