What does it have to do with the fact that I got it from itch.io? They should not modify the game files in any way. Can you explain why you assume that?
It does because some sites are not reputable and can contain altered games, which do contain trojans, viruses, etc. Getting it from a site like itch.io, means there's less of a chance that some jerk had infected the file and then uploaded it.
Itch doesnt upload virused files, and if it did the game would be removed quickly after it being exposed. Tha game is here for like a year or more, do you really think it wouldn't come out for the whole time? P.s.: 3 years
