I don't want to sleep... i can sense something

The character receives this message that he cannot sleep because he feels something.

I walked around everything in the area, looked under every stone and into every locker. The radar is silent, Kerfus is sleeping in the trash heap...

WHAT THE HELL BUG, THERE IS NO ONE, I CAN’T SLEEP FOR THE 3RD NIGHT, NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE

KEL DOESN'T SLEEP UNTIL 6-7 AM AND EVEN AFTER THE DAY, WHAT THE CRAP???????

Help, how to fix this bug? I don't want to replay

Some kind of softlock...

Yeah same just happened to me. I spent multiple in-game days. I watched the structure events unfold of the days of the late teens and wandered all over the map. I even managed to fully steal the “chest” in my garage, temporarily, there in the middle. Can sleep in my bed or other locations. Can’t save. Eventually had to kill the game.

The whole disabling the in-game menu thing is not a good “feature” for so many reasons, but combined with bugs like this it is a game breaker.

while yes its inconvenient, that "disabling pause menu" thing is there to prevent save/quit-scumming, which is a consistent issue among games that have quick save, and especially  horror games. wheres the tension if you can just quit out?

does it make bugs like this more prominent issues? yes. does it mean this is a bad feature? hell no! i love the idea that, at a moments notice, i have to see an event or entity encounter through or die trying. maybe disabling autosave during an event could circumvent this issue, much like how its disabled if youre on the atv?

I can force quit a game, menu shenanigans don’t slow me down. I’ve played plenty of scary or tension building games and I don’t remember it killing the vibe. On the other hand, a game soft locking partially because saving is disabled, that does kill the vibe. I understand that it seems to give some people a sense of accomplishment, but is self control not an accomplishment itself? :D

yes but also no. You're asking the target audience to have self control, and especially me, the guy who hooked Dr kel up with a space elf-cat girlfriend and gets a sudden urge to shove every mannequin into the woodchipper in a fit of psychotic giggles, and a postal 2 enjoyer... To have self control

Sounds like you’re playing the Dark Souls of self-control!

it also flat out bugs/corrupts/cancels events if you can save in the middle of them

Just wait when you can sleep. This is not a bug. If you can't sleep then this is an event near. (or im dumb idk)

I was already waiting, I understand that this is the threshold of some event. But this event does not happen...

Pause is pressed (by the way, sometimes it doesn’t, it sometimes works, sometimes it doesn’t)

It feels like the game is trying to launch an event but something is stopping it, I tried all the recommendations from people, and waited, checked the lockers, went around scaring everyone on the map (no one, I was just rummaging around at night), worked, waited

For 3 days in a row the game has been trying to launch the event but cannot...

That's why I think it's a bug, because I press pause, but Kel doesn't want to sleep... even though there's no one and nothing nearby...

He just doesn't sleep...

so, well, look, I had this situation, I spent 4 hours in the game and it didn't work out to fix and sleep, what they wrote to you just wait until you can sleep, then it won't help, as I fixed the bug with the event, I downloaded the newest version of the game and passed the event again in a couple of minutes to me I let you save and sleep on, if you don't succeed - then this saving is over, write how it turned out, I hope it helps you somehow

A good way to fix this is to reset your player stats, and if that doesn't work... well... get used to a caffeine addiction.

honestly, i just spammed use on the bed thing i bought from the store and hoped nothing bad happens, eventually it stopped being annoying

quick question: is it a "bad sun" day? cuz thats an entire day-long event that prevents sleep

Of course not...

This is not the first time I’ve played through the game, it’s just that the very fact of the bug surprises me, this is the first time I’ve encountered it, and that’s why it surprises me, or something...

fair enough

I had an event in this version that got bugged and never ended, although the cause was far more obvious (an entity got stuck in a door and was unable to path and thus unable to do its thing and then despawn).  I did find a workaround of sorts, though... what I did was get myself a lantern and make my way to the cave.  Entering the deeper caves forces the game to save as you move maps, and then you can walk right back out, which should hopefully wipe away whatever entity/event was bugged out and not happening.
