¡Hello everyone! My name is Alba. I'm looking for a team to attend this jam and translate from ENG to EUROPEAN SPANISH. This is my first game translation jam, but I have several years of experience in the gaming industry, proficiency level in both Spanish (mother tongue) and English (I studied it for 14 years and got my CAE), and a diploma in Creative Writing. I would love to participate in this jam, no matter what the results, but to enjoy the experience and learn from my teammates and everyone in this jam! Feel free to drop a line if you’re interested so we can create a discord server. 🩷

Hi, Alba,

This is Guillem. Nice to e-meet you! I am also looking for a team to attend this jam in this language pair. I have 10+ years of experience as a freelance translator and proofreader, but I have never had the chance to work in videogame localization, so I would love to give it a try. If you are still looking for teammates, count me in!

Hi! It would be great to have you on the team, so welcome! For now we are only 2, but I am sure that more people will join, I will be creating a server in discord so we can work out there. Can you pass me your discord id?

Great! Yes, you can find me as "guille" with username "kirrifant".

Cool! Taking notes with it, let's wait for now to see if more people wants to join :)

Hi! By now it's just the two of us, what are your thoughts on this? any idea?

Hey, Alba! Maybe we can go ahead with a team of 2? I looked at the deadline and wordcount of the project to be translated and in fact it could be completed by just one localizer, but of course the review, testing, potential image editing, etc. would also rest on the shoulders of only one person, so it would not be ideal. Being only two has the advantage that we both can experience all the stages of the localization, for instance translating half of the text and reviewing the other half which the other person has translated, then splitting the testing (or both doing a full testing), and it can also be easier to manage the project and reach translation decisions. What do you think?

Okay! I think we can give it a try, for sure, so let's focus on the experience and not in perfection and results! :D

Awesome! I'm sure we'll learn a lot.

Hello! My name is Guillermo, I worked as a Spanish LQA Tester for almost two years now and would love to be part of your team! I think this can be a great opportunity for me to learn and polish my translation skills. My work languages are EN/IT > ES, so I think I can be a good fit on this project.

In addition, I have a linguistic background with two Master's Degrees in Translation (Audiovisual Translation and Game Loc), as well as two Bachelor's (in Translation as well, hahaha). Aside from game loc, I can help with any multimedia assets that we might need localized with subtitling, voice-over scripts, etc. I need to learn some graphic design tools to localized some in-game assets, but I could give it a try!

I am willing to help and give my best and I am honesty excited as this will be my very first LOCJAM :D

If you happen to have a spot, just hit me up!

Thanks in advance <3

Hi Guillermo! I'm so sorry for my late response, if you are still interested, please drop your discord username, this jam is about to start, and so is our server!

Hello! My name Is Nazarena and I'm interested in this language pair as well. Would you mind if I join?

Sorry @Irliis, didn't receive the notif of a new comment! If you are still interested, drop your Discord username, I'm creating a server for us!

Hi, guys! Nice to e-meet you, Guillermo and Nazarena! @Alba, it seems finally the team can get bigger than we thought! I think I did not receive any message from you in Discord yet. Did you send it to me?

YEP! I'm here!! I've been a bit busy lately, but I was about to create the discord server, sorry for the delay!

I just send you a friend request on discord, my username is "albagzrs" :)
