I'm super excited to announce the public release of the early prototype of Scary Stories!

Scary Stories is a text-based horror game where you can choose how your story unfolds...

With a focus on story-telling, audio and atmosphere each story contains multiple choices which affect the ending of the story, along the way you may also come across items which will help you in the trials to come.

Current features:

- "Whispers in the Shadows" Story. (Teaser)

- "Demo" Story. (Used to showcase mechanics)

- Progress/Settings saving. (demo saves will be compatible with future updates)

DEVELOPMENT

Who?

Hi, I'm Devlin (or Bruce)! I'm a hobby games developer and professional QA Engineer, I'm from Glasgow, Scotland (#represent) and I've been programming in C#/.NET for the past 8+ years. I love games, especially creating them - working with machines is my calling and creatively; games are my passion. I love the idea of telling stories and creating worlds to be immersed in. I'm currently the only person developing this project.

How?

The game is written in C# using Unity, the project was created from scratch and developed in my spare time. I mean there is a bit of complexity to the code but if you have any technical questions feel free to ask!

Why?

Originally inspired by ODYSSEY from RockRedUgly, feeling inspired I wanted to create a game similar but make it my own! I guess a "deeper" answer would be that I love making games, programming (particularly in C#) is just fun to me and so some people might play a game to get that serotonin, but we developers prefer making one...
