I wanted to add Desktop Goose to my computer via the desktop app, but I couldn't because it "didn't support version". I downloaded it on the website, extracted it and dragged the exe file over to Itch. Still didn't work...
Not all projects can be managed by the Itch app. Just start the app manually.
Also, dragging an exe over an icon will give the exe as a starting parameter to the icon. If it can't handle starting parameters, this won't work. You can drag a text file over a text editor for example.
