Does Itchio support console games?

I'm a game dev student and I'll soon be able to develop for Windows, Android, and consoles (primarily Xbox Series, and Playstation). Would I be able to share a console version of a game I developed? Or, if I also offered a Windows or Android version, that I would need to include a link to the console version on a platform like PSN or Xbox Network?

Depends.

If you can sideload games on the console, you can also upload and distribute it on itch. There is this Playdate console https://itch.io/games/tag-playdate , so the trivial answer to your question is: Yes.

You will also find roms for other consoles, even c64. PSX looks popular.

Just putting a page up with the link to another store is kinda pointless. And maybe even against the tos.

But you will find things that are available on itch, but will have links to steam, the apple store, the google play store and so on. I do not remember seeing a link to playstation or xbox though.

Doesn't PlayStation need to be jailbroken in order to install anything without using the online store or actual disc? Itch will allow you to distribute the files, its more Sony that you have to worry about as from what I have heard and read about they really try to prevent people from sidestepping their marketplace.

You can definitely link to other marketplaces as redonihunter mentioned so your best bet is to get it on the official online store for that console and then just provide a link to that among your platform downloads. (besides, this will allow owners of that console to discover your game via browsing the online store which is much more likely to happen than for them to find it here...)

That is often seen for Android games. Though those ususally can get loaded on an Android device without a store.

As an example for a multiplatform game, Baba Is You is available on Switch console and mobiles stores, but there is no link to those stores on the game page and on Itch are only the PC versions.

Actually, how usefull would those links be? Mentioning an also available on Switch should be enough, if so desired. I am not even sure if it is possible to deeplink games. Is this used for people browsing websites on their console, so they find the game in their store? I know it works for google play store, but the console stores?

Playstation store is viewable in browser and I'm sure the others are too, but only an indie enthusiast would arrive on an itch page from their console. The link is probably not very important, but it is nice to have in case for example someone has a gift card or other balance that they could spend.
