Game page for unreleased game with dev blog?

Hey guys,

I really like itch.io, this is due to the people here. It's another spirit. So I am thinking of making a game, and for marketing and to get involved with the community I would like to make a page at itch.io - but without any download, just for "dev" - does it makes sense?

Is it how it should be used? I'd like to make surveys on gameplay decisions and more, and I would use tumblr / website and dublicate this to itch, because I made the experience that tumblr isn't working at all, and the website is just to bring every network together.

The game would be not downloadable, just dev updates until an early access version is available (this can take long, I estimate 1 y+).

Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Hey, sorry for missing your topic. Yes, this is how we intend people to run projects in development. It's not necessary to add files to a page to publish it, and you can add files whenever you're ready. When you initially launch the project you can make a release announcement post to bump it up in popularity.

thank you very much. this answers my question :) itch.io is a great place for indies. keep up the tremendous work!
