I can not figure out why my RealFlight controller is not being seen by FPV FreeRider? Can anyone help me? Ideas to check?

Has anyone acctualy been able to get it to work?

Thanks for the help!

Werner

cant get to work

Yeah no luck! I have tried everything I can think of. It works great wtih Realflight.

I know several people who are able to use their Realflight controllers with Freerider. First of all check the manual for some general advice if you haven't already.

Also you might find some info if you search around in this RCGroups thread:

Hi, I have a RealFlight controller (InterLink Elite by Futaba) it's impossible to make run with FPV FreeRider, Pitch and Roll function are OK but Throtlle does not exist (Ø) and the Yaw is on the vertical of the stick function...please help a French poor beginner :)

Best Regards

- Make sure you uninstall vJoy and Smartpropoplus if you have them. It seems it installs a driver that messes with things.

- Make sure you don't have any other joysticks/controllers connected, that might cause a conflict.

As described in the manual, if the automatic stick detection fails but you see the correct circles moving on the calibration screen you can manually click the correct one (instead of clicking "ok")

It fired right up on my MacBook Pro with my InterLink Elite / Futaba. Good thing too because RealFlight drones are really bad. This app rocks.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear you like it and that it works well on your setup!

hi, i use realflight simulator usb dongle with devo 7e and radiolink at9 and works realy good. if someone need help with that, replay

I also want to point out that my InterLink Elite (G4) / Futaba works right out of the box on PC/Windows 10. No extra drivers, no nothing!

You've got a really nice piece of software here, neat and simple.

Not a big deal, but maybe we could have a possibility to map flightmodes to switches on controllers?

Developer

Thanks!

Appreciate you sharing the info.

That would be possible and surely nice to have, at the same time I am very hesitant to add such a function. There are so many types of controller with different switches (2-way, 3-way etc...) that I expect it will cause much headache for people who can't get their specific setup to read it correctly. It is sort of possible with a workaround though - you can map the keyboard shortcuts to a button/switch on your transmitter with a program such as this:

http://joytokey.net/en/

(Keyboard shortcut for acro/self-leveling toggle is "l")

I suppose you are right. Keep it simple is key. Keep up the good work!

New to this fpv game. Was told my interlink elite controller should work. I am missing something, it doesn't. I have tried both usb 3 and 2 on my windows 10 system with no success. (made sure is working on RealFlight). Will a spectrum 7 or 8 work??

Developer

I think it should work. You can check the manual for some general tips. For example make sure you don't have any other joysticks/controllers connected at the same time.

Yes, Spektrum radios generally work using the Smartpropolus method described in the manual.

Same problem here with latest version of Freerider. Win 10 sees the device but Freerider does not. There are no other controllers defined or connected except a Logitech wireless mouse. General statements like "look for tips in the manual" haven't helped. My controller came with RF 7.5, and works perfectly otherwise. Hopefully someone has figured this thing out. Thanks!

Developer

Are you getting any movement at all of the little circles during calibration in Freerider?

You could try disconnecting the wireless mouse just to see if that makes a difference, I don't think that's the problem though.

The tip to uninstall vJoy and/or Smartpropoplus has helped a lot of people. I know, you probably already saw that in the manual but it's worth repeating just in case you or anybody else reading this has missed it.

Nope, nothing. Freerider simply does not see the controller on this computer, but does on another one I have. I'll just use it on that other one.

Developer

I see, I'm glad to hear that you can at least use it on your other computer.

It's an analog controller, so I wouldn't know how to do any mixes. Anyway, it only fails on one of my computers, so there is something wrong on that PC.
