Itch app won't start on Ubuntu 18.04

I just downloaded the itch app installer, ran it and it seemed to work fine, but the app itself won't start. No window appears launching it from gnome-shell, and nothing happens launching it from the command line. This is what I get in a terminal

mjog@blanchefort:~$ ~/.itch/itch
2018/10/08 22:12:43 App name specified on command-line: itch
2018/10/08 22:12:43 Locale:  en-AU
2018/10/08 22:12:43 Initializing (itch) multiverse @ (/home/mjog/.itch)
2018/10/08 22:12:43 (/home/mjog/.itch)(current = "25.2.0", ready = "")
2018/10/08 22:12:43 Launch preferred, attempting...
2018/10/08 22:12:43 Launching (25.2.0) from (/home/mjog/.itch/app-25.2.0)
2018/10/08 22:12:43 App launched, getting out of the way
mjog@blanchefort:~$

itch v25.3.0 is out, if you run ~/.itch/itch-setup again it should upgrade to it, and then it should launch fine!

Thanks, the updated fixed it.

Err, except it stopped working again.

I ran tech-setup as suggested, and it updated and the app launched. I quit it, then tried to re-launch it again, and again, nothing actually happens. Looking into it, ~/.itch/itch-setup has literally become a zero-length file:

mjog@blanchefort:~$ ls -l ~/.itch/itch-setup
-rwxr-xr-x 1 mjog mjog 0 Oct 10 18:12 /home/mjog/.itch/itch-setup

I've identified the issue here: https://github.com/itchio/itch-setup/issues/4

I'm working on a fix, I'll let you know when it's out!

The fix is out, if you download & run the installer from https://itch.io/app you should have a working (and self-updating) install of itch.
