Initially I felt making this would be a little egotistical, but people have been incredibly generous, so I'm finally pulling the trigger and pulling the art together in its own dedicated thread. If you'd like to do some, or have, and want to post it, feel free to do so here. This isn't exhaustive either, mostly just what's been posted to these forums.

Also, if you post your art here, feel free to shill your galleries/socials if you've got 'em. I'm sure there'll be some people that see your work and be interested in seeing more from the same.

From Ridodon:

From Asrielsal:

Thanks to everyone who's made stuff, enjoy seeing it!

(+2)

dont forget the one from MCcrazy as well~

Developer

Nice! Good to have this here too.

(1 edit) (+4)

Hello there, sorry if it looks shite but 3mb limit is a bit bad, you can find it ton e621 quite easily

Developer(+1)

Oh ho, haven't seen this one yet! Very nice. And yeah, size is a little limited here since it's just a basic forum. Feel free to link out to higher rez versions as well if you like.

(+1)

hope you liked it, here's the e6 link since I think furaffinity compresses pics too

https://e621.net/posts/4271859?q=mezz_%28cruel_serenade%29

Developer

Perfect. And absolutely, love how it turned out!

(+2)

Furfragged got in on the art too, now

https://twitter.com/Furfragged/status/1708624767400710196/photo/1

Developer

Nice! Thanks for the heads up: I knew this was coming, but I don't follow people on X and he didn't post in on FA, so I would have missed this otherwise. Really neat to see.

(+1)

and some more! https://twitter.com/Furfragged/status/1708973370174554415

no worries

(+1)

Weird, this one doesn't work for me but the other one does

Developer

Both still up, but X/Twitter can be odd. May ask for permission to just repost them here eventually.

(+2)

Made a couple memey pieces

https://www.furaffinity.net/view/53976456/

Developer

Nice! Your dedication in redrawing this entire thing just for the sake of the meme is admirable. As someone who has done my share of goofy nonsense, I approve!

(+3)

Found this new fan art
https://x.com/kento267/status/1722721506923319647?s=20

Developer(+3)(-1)

Holy shit. That is...quite a bit more more muscle than I remember Mezz having. Love it though; that's one of the fun parts of fan art, seeing all the different styles. Thanks for posting; like I've said, I'm not on X much.

(+2)

The truth is that a neurological condition, bad eyesight and lack of extensive practice since I was a young boy have all caused my already non-existent artistic capabilities to atrophy even further. However, since part of my training requires me to learn how to sketch various objects, I very recently started practicing, and I decided to try sketching Mezz. Again, I am fully aware that this is sub-novice level, but I still wanted to share it. Also, I don't have any colouring utensils at this moment, not that it would help.

Developer(+1)

Aw, love it! Hey, you should see what my stuff looked when I first started trying to draw. It's not ALL about persistence, talent sure helps, but you gain a LOT by just doing, over and over. But I'll say what I always do: making something takes time and effort, and if anyone feels strongly enough about my stuff that it makes them want to make something, I'm honored. Now in terms of development, only you can say whether you want to go after drawing specifically; I recently turned down a nice guitar because I just didn't have the time to get into music. But if you do want to, I'd definitely encourage it. Speaking as someone who's definitely NOT talented, it's a lot of work, it's a struggle, but man is it satisfying when a little something comes together and you go "wow, I drew that?"

May I ask what training? Something to help with the condition?

I'm in school for digital forensics, and I learned that while there are sometimes technicians who will collect digital media for the examiner, there will also be times where I am required to actually come out and collect the items from a scene. From what I'm learning so far, a lot of agencies and departments require a sketch to be made for each evidence item, alongside photographs, videos, and written documentation. Of course, I haven't even interned, yet, so all my understanding is strictly academic and not necessarily based on how it's actually done.

Oh yeah, practice definitely makes a difference, as I could sketch some decently complex characters back when I did it every week; still not top notch, but I could reasonably sketch characters like Aang, Pain (Deva Path), Cosmo, so on. I definitely did feel proud when I made anything recognizable, and not fevered drawings.

Developer

Oooh, so it's part of the forensics stuff, that makes sense. Well excellent, and again, thanks for the piece! Always glad to have new art.

(+1)

Everyone starts somewhere.  and hey.  A philosophy I have is, if you can recognize who the character is in fanart, then it's good fanart

(+1)

That means a lot, thank you.

I still think my attempt was pretty low quality, but you're right, the fact it is distinguishable as a specific character and not a random furry rabbit does show I improved in some capacity.

(+2)

I recently got my tablet, and I attempted some more fanart, specifically of Mahir in a specific scene. As you can see, my lines are still incredibly unstable. Also, yes, Mahir is merely a floating head in this one, as I find bodies and clothing still somewhat difficult to draw.

Developer

Oh hey, here I am replying to your other message and you've already started! Nice! Don't worry about the wobbliness, that's something everyone struggles with at first, on any media, and tablets are especially bad because they're like trying to draw on glass. I actually tape a sheet of paper to mine (just painters tape, so it doesn't leave a sticky mess) so I can get some friction. There are also smoothing/stability settings in a lot of software, but beware of cranking those too high: you lose the ability to make fine motions you WANT to make. It's like how people with botox are so tightened up they can't frown anymore. TLDR: a little wobble is due to tablet/software, and you should tweak the settings to try to get rid of that, but the rest is due to hand, and will fade with practice. A good way to test is doing quick, sweeping arc lines or "straight" lines, just a really quick motion across the tablet. If the line is smooth in the art program, all is good. If it's still all over the place, that's jitter, and you should try to adjust settings until that goes away.

I'm sure you'll figure this out on your own too, but if you aren't already, put your lineart on a layer above your colors; that way you can color INTO the lineart, but you'll be beneath it, so you'll get a nice clean meet of line and color without the little gaps, and you won't have to worry about super precise or overrunning your lines. I kinda dig the rough style this one has though.

And floating heads are great! That's what I started with for a long time. They're simple enough to not be frustrating, but there's enough there to have fun with, and even to practice turning stuff in 3d, getting volume and depth, all kinds of stuff. They're a good starting point.

(1 edit) (+2)

Got some more practice in, although this one took me a while due to various factors of life. I still haven't graduated beyond headshots, really, but I'm working my way up the comfort ladder. Also, I didn't know if he had piercings on both ears, so I apologize if this is inaccurate.

PS: He's supposed to look uneasy/tense.

EDIT: Damn it, I forgot his freckles; also, I like adding whiskers.

Developer

Oh hey, not bad! And no worries, you got it right; I guess there's no "official" pic of the other side since I have him turned in his only art thus far, but that's about what I was thinking for the piercings, yeah. Good dynamic angle too!

(+1)

Yeah, I wasn't trying to assume, but he kind of struck me as favoring asymmetry for his piercings; that, or he didn't have enough piercings. Personally, I don't like having piercings, but I appreciate interesting placement and design on other people or on fictional characters.

(+2)

Did a series of fan cocktails based on the first two games:
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/corbinbelasco/folder/1398013/Cruel-Serenade-...

Developer (1 edit)

Aw, these are great! I think I remember you saying you were going to work on some cocktails, cool to see they actually came to fruition! I uh...don't drink, hilariously, so I can't really speak to the taste, but I do like the idea. Some other fans will have to weight in on whether they actually like the combos. I do love the presentation though, and wow, Midori comes in a really pretty bottle.

And yeah, in-setting MOST places wouldn't be this fancy, but the host club would absolutely serve this kind of stuff (Am I contradicting what I said earlier?) the hyenas are good for it. If they haven't lost it all gambling. Mezz gets blitzed quickly, but that's only partially because it's strong and partially because he's a light weight (I mean he's only what, four feet tall?)

(+1)

Thanks, I mostly tried to work with what I had or could get easily. Midori is perfect for getting that neon green color into drinks, bottle is cool but previous years it came in a frosted glass bottle that looked better.  If you can get your hands on a melon ramune at an Asian market it would be close to an NA Midori.

Your explanation fits my headcannon for Mezz, mix of being a lightweight and bootleg alcohol being rocket fuel.  Some of the liquors I used come in higher proof so you could get there if you wanted (navy strength gin, bottled in bond rye and applejack, everclear). Also kind of fits the whole theme of how he sees himself vs where his limits actually are.

(+3)

Here's fan art by me. Mezz my beloved <3

Developer(+1)

Nice! Something about the shading I really enjoy on this one.

(+1)

:)

Finished <3

Oh, it was just a WIP! Not bad, not bad at all.

(+1)

Surprise!

(+4)

Little practice pixel animation I did of Mezz and Scratch losing to the hyenas together :)
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58083482/

(+1)

Ugh... I would love for something like that to happen in the game hehe...

heh, right? would be cute to see mezz and scratch together, with or without hypno- being used, being romantic, whatevs

can't wait to see where bitshift goes with them!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Ha, nice! Love the expressions, and the pixel-y style is really fun. Gotta give the guys more arm to work with though, so they can properly brace themselves! But I sympathize, foreshortening is hard.

(+1)

heh thanks, been experimenting with pixel art and the limitations can be pretty freeing - less choices to make and all that

and yeah, the poses in general are pretty sketchy if you look too closely at them - was tinkering with the non-hand-holding arms in particular for hours, flipping the canvas 100x, trying to see where to place them, but eventually decided it would have to be a case of "good enough" lol

Developer(+1)

Oh I know the feeling, believe me. And it's usually the correct decision. Finished art leads to more finished art, and making more art is the best way to improve. Spending too much time on a piece after a certain point just wastes effort; most people learn faster by starting off fresh. I certainly do at least.

But regardless, this is still really cool to see! Appreciate it.

(+1)

mhm, exactly, 100% agree  - just take in what you can do better, then apply it next time

thanks again :) keep up the great work on the games and updates and stuffs 🌻

(+3)

Did another meme pic

https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58445507/

Developer (1 edit)

Lol. Probably fairly accurate too. But we will see soon enough :D.

And thanks!

(+3)

Me & Mezz are working the backstreets like good gutter trash. Making those dues. :#
art by @brownieclops

Developer

Woo! Said it elsewhere, but again, VERY kind of you to get this commissioned. And what a pair!

Developer(+2)

Some art found in the depths of 4chan. No attribution. I'm not really a savior-complex or humansxfurries fan, but I dig the style so I thought I'd repost. If it's your art and you can prove it, feel free to say so and I'll give credit.

(+1)

I'm not really a savior-complex fan, either, but that is so cute! I especially like the second one, as I almost imagine him saying, "Yeah, yeah, thanks for helping me in that fight. You can... stop petting me anytime."

(+2)

Yeah the second one feels more on-brand for him. If he got in over his head and needed rescuing, he'd act too cool to admit it.

(+1)

doing some google image searches from feeding this in, it looks like the artist may be https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/daigaijin/

Also within the search, here's some more fanart, but on the bluesky side of things.  https://bsky.app/profile/unidedtypingobject.bsky.social/post/3koypmlxcaa2x

Developer

Nah, I know Daigaijin's stuff, definitely not his style. This is way too digital. Good guess though.

(+1)

a few of their commissions are digital and have a more cute look like this.  was directed to it from someone's profile pic.  but could be wrong, yeah.  Hope you find out one day so you can compliment them.

(+1)

They look not bad, but it seems these two art are generated by AIπŸ€”. Feel free to correct me.

Developer

Hard to say. I could really see it going either way. There are a lot of "mistakes" on this that feel very human, but others that don't. The fact that the same artist somehow managed to put the grip on the staff in the right place once, and the wrong place in the other, or somehow, arbitrarily decided to do the shirt in a different style are certainly eyebrow raising. And there are some odd choices made on some of the shading. Ironically the thing that most pushes me toward this being human is that the perspective is subtly broken on #1, in a way I don't think image gen would do. But I'm not going to worry about it much one way or the other.

(+3)

Wanted to throw my hat in the ring, but I'm honestly a very novice artist. I did manage a rough sketch for a scene, though. I'll likely never finish it due to time constraints and just because my art always crumbles even harder when I add details. Still, I thought it should at least see the light of day.

Developer(+1)

Finish it! Ha, you don't HAVE to, but it's a good first attempt. My stuff was pretty horrifying (in a bad way) when I started. If you do decide to get into drawing, I recommend starting with just simple busts, neck head face. There's enough there to have a lot of fun with, but it's simple enough that it doesn't get overwhelming.

Also what did you do to your other post!? I had a reply ready, and then it disappeared.

(1 edit) (+1)

I thought about it some, and decided it was overly rambly and just kinda weird to read in retrospect. I have mild autism (formerly diagnosed as Asperger's Syndrome) so I can get a bit too, enthusiastic let's say, about the things I'm interested in.  This semester of college is also already stressing me out so, really, I'm just a bundle of nerves at the moment and writing helps me calm down. Maybe I'm just too paranoid about turning into JustinRPG. If you still have your response you can post it, I don't mind.

Oh, I guess I should say this now since you brought the thread up again; I don't know how, where, when you came across Devil's Haunt but DAMN. It's no longer a game, you're actually putting me under some sort of suggestion because I cannot stop listening to it!

Developer(+1)

Aw, it was great! I always enjoy seeing people's reactions to my stuff, especially when they take the time to go more in-depth on things. You certainly don't have to post it if you're uncomfortable/unhappy with the quality, but if it's just me you're worried about, by all means slap it up again. That's...kinda the reason this forum exists after all, feedback.

And ha, glad you like it. It is a good song!

(+1)

May try to post a new thread once I've seen all the endings. Try to be more structured about it next time. Gonna dive back in tonight so we'll see what happens.

Developer(+1)

Fair enough!

(1 edit) (+2)

Ok, you wanted a finished work, this is about as "finished" as I can manage with my current skill level. I took your advice and just decided to focus on the head.

A little context about my choices in this doodle. There's an hour looping version of Devil's Haunt on YouTube that I've taken to listening to and it features this image https://piapro.jp/t/VMbj as the background. I thought it looked pretty cute, and then I thought of someone else that looks pretty cute and could maybe explore a change in wardrobe.

Developer(+1)

Nice! And as intimidating as it can be at the start, you learn important stuff by forcing yourself to go through the whole cycle, part of which is just that you CAN go through the whole cycle. Not that you have to get into drawing if it's not your thing, but the same's true for a lot of things. You finish stuff, and however it turns out, at least you don't have that "I never finish anything" bouncing around in your head. Good habits and all.

But I like it, it's a neat pose. And good luck with the oncoming semester!

(+1)

Thanks!

(+2)

I know it's not really my place to respond here, but I have to say that your drawing is leagues better than my first attempt at drawing Mezz. I'm sure with enough practice, you'll be drawing some very high quality stuff.

Thank you, that's very encouraging!

(+2)

Alright, this will probably be my last post in the fanart thread for a while. I've done nothing over the past three days but study, art, and sleep. I've been going through tutorial after tutorial and drawing various critters. So, as a last hoorah, I decided to redraw the sketch I did of Mezz from the other day. While still not what I have in my mind's eye, even I can't say I'm too unhappy with my progress.

I may start uploading sketches to FA to get more feedback. Tons of amateur artists upload there anyway, so worst I can be is another drop in the bucket.

Developer

Aww, cute!

It's a slow process sometimes, don't be too hard on yourself. I've been trying to draw on and off for a while, but this latest batch started...*Checks archive* holy jesus has it been a fucking decade? Yeah, yeah looks like it. Don't let that dishearten you though, I've got a head of rocks when it comes to art. If even I can manage this much, probably almost anyone with basic intelligence and motivation can, and most will probably progress faster. But yeah, just keep cranking, keep trying things. And if you decide to go long-term, look into a simple art program and tablet. You don't have to buy some $1000 Cintiq, basic ones go for like $80 and they're perfectly fine. And digital is GREAT when you're starting out, because you can erase and rework endlessly without fatiguing the paper. Just don't use Photoshop for drawing, terrible when you're trying to do tablet stuff. Everyone has their own thing though, of course. Don't let me steer you away from traditional if you enjoy it. Just try stuff, start simple (VERY simple sometimes) and gradually add on as you go.

(1 edit) (+2)

CS in Funger theme

Made this because I just love CS and Funger like how I love all the "main characters" are just a small fish in a very big deep ocean man! (and also their RNG stuff lol)
Developer(+2)

Aw, this is super cute, thanks! Huh, never heard of Fear and Hunger before, may have to give it a try eventually.

(+2)

Hehe glad you like it! Yeah you can try Funger later if you are busy because that game will gonna take you like forever to get used to it stuff and then just screw you up with gacha, gacha and gacha.

Developer(+2)

Also I should add, and this goes for everyone, if you post art here, feel free to shill your galleries/socials if you've got 'em. Don't mind at all. I'm sure there'll be some people that see this (and a lot of the stuff here) and be interested in seeing more from the same if it exists.

(+1)

Yes sir! i will I will UwO

(+2)

Mezz fan art #2

Another quick art of Mezz because he is cute and he reminded me about my bf :P
(+1)

I am actually digging this so much ^w^ fits the theme of CS imo and really cute

(+1)

Hehe glad you like it, I am still trying to learn to draw more furry stuff UwU

Developer(+1)

Oh ho, very nice. Like his expression too.

(+1)

Yeah love when he's shy but always tries to hide it! (γ€ƒοΎŸ3οΎŸγ€ƒ)

(1 edit) (+1)

I cooked a Mezz Cookie with:

A Mezz Cookie

A normal version.

A Mezz Cookie

A little shading and some effects.
Developer(+1)

Pfft. These are pretty great. Now I want a crispy-brown gingerbread version too though.

(1 edit) (+1)

A Mezz Cookie

Gingerbread with a strawberry.

Yum! πŸͺ🐰

(+1)

Mezz come in here looking like a snack~

Yeah! He looks scrumptious. ✨

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Nice! Insert joke about frosting here. Love it though. Though the perfectionist in me is whining that the detail lines should be frosting too (Maybe a different color?). Don't mind me, just got done drawing, brain's still in art mode. Either way though, this is adorable.

(+1)

Don't worry sir! I appreciated your recommendation just I am being lazy for another artwork hehe.

Developer(+1)

Oh don't mind me you have already absolutely spoiled me. I'll just enjoy these some more.

(+1)

Mezz Shrinky Dink

Oh yeah, I haven't thought about it lol. XD

(+1)

Mezz Cookie #2

Another Mezz Cookie but this time I used the cutter from the Cookie Run game hehe. πŸͺ🐰
Developer(+1)

Those are some BIG eyes. Love the feel of it.

(+1)

Yippie thank you bunny leader :3! I was kinda worried  about Mezz being too cute . DX

(1 edit) (+2)

Another Mezz fanart hehe

He is the reason why I started learning to draw more stuff because I luv him sm! πŸ₯Ίβœ¨
Developer(+1)

I'm really happy a number of people have been inspired to start messing around with drawing due to the game. Because after all, it's fun, but it's a game. You have your fun, you come and go. But if you get the drawing bug, and keep tumbling down that hole, that can be a lifelong benefit. Maybe even a money maker at some point!

I like the scritchy scratchy texture on this too, feels very "illustration".

(+1)

Aww thank you! I really enjoyed the game and very excited for the next chapters, until then I am planning to make even more stuff about the current contents! (=`ω´=)

(+2)

MxM

(WIP) Mezz Γ— Mahir because why not? πŸ˜”βœ¨
Developer(+1)

Neat kinda flow to it. Reminds me of those old Sonic illustrations from the Adventure era. Also this has to be the least menacing Mahir has ever looked. "Oh we're best buddies, nothing nefarious here!"

(+1)

Hardly indeed! My art style just made villains less evil. ( οΌ›βˆ€οΌ›)

(+2)

MxM

"Forced Services"
MxM
And filtered version.
Developer(+1)

Oooh, you were gonna color it! And animate! Nice, that last frame on the top especially is pretty fun. I can't entirely endorse what those inner arms are doing, but again, look at that Sonic stuff, his anatomy does some INTERESTING things in some of those. It's all about the SWIRL.

(+1)

Thank you bunny leader! I am still learning and trying new stuff but glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I don't know neither what am I doing when in artist mode. πŸ˜”

(+2)

A Mezz keychain I guess?

A Mezz Keychain?!!!
Developer(+1)

Have you found a bit of a muse here Salty? Not that I'm complaining :D.

(+1)

Yes a lots ^^ and I just don't know why only CS give me this feeling. I did try other RPG games either SFW or NSFW, they are good which some of them are really made my mind blow but still not enough for me to draw their contents. Eh it is fine to complain me cuz you are the boss here plus sometimes I am really noisy and naughty ngl. 😭

Developer(+1)

Oh not at all, I love that people enjoy the games and characters enough to actually want to make art off 'em. Kinda blows MY mind honestly. Just please forgive, I run out of clever things to say after a while. But I'm still enjoying!

(+1)

Nah it is okay! Really glad you enjoyed it. ❀

(+1)

You could draw this on a Shrinky Dink and make a real Mezz keychain.

(+1)

OH! NOW I WANTED TO DRAW MEZZ AND MAHIR COUPLE KEYCHAINS 😭✨

(+1)

Lewd keychain where he's naked and presenting and his hole is also the hole for the key ring. And he's wide eyed when you put a caribiner clip in there lol

It is a good idea tho but I will not be able to wear that on my bag and go outside. XD

not with that attitude you can't everyone's day can be made better with a good shock and story.

yeah but I can't really put that outside for real, just have some personal problems. πŸ˜”

(+1)

Mezz Fanart #I_forgot

Mezz fanart but in the traditional way
Developer

Nice. I like the kind of floating implied by the feet. ASCEND.

(1 edit) (+1)

Ah that so nice of you!

And yeah! Me and my delulu about Mezz stuff incoming soon. Made this one for a break time. uwu
