Of the Firebirdsis a small essay/meditation on imaginary creatures: firebirds!

I coded it in about two weeks out of something I’d written and analog-illustrated ~5 years ago, then self-published a couple years after that along with some other similar content, and I hope you enjoy! Free, playable in your browser, ~1000 words, original hand-drawn art and music.

It’s - probably a demo or a teaser for a larger experience that will contain many such creations in a loose frame story (right now, I tend to think the frame story is largely exploring an enormous House - possibly the same enormous House featured in Twelve Days, my previous and first itch.io creation).

Though Twelve Days and Of the Firebirds are part of the same fictional universe, you can’t tell from just the two of them; they are very different works that can be enjoyed independently.
