Guys i think that we should be focusing on adding more content to the game instead of focusing on sex positions or more portraits. This game is already developed enough  (based on mechanics) , the quality is there. now it's time to add some quantity , adding more quests, more events and more races.

>more races

Problem: the new races will be shallow.  The game's mechanics are developed, but the game currently has a one-size-fits-all approach to its races and characters.

Example: a small flying creature (such as a fairy) ought to have a special role in combat.  They can't wield heavy weapons or deal much physical damage, but they are very difficult to hit, they can flank past enemy tanks, they can harass/interrupt enemy spellcasters, or they could sneak past the whole battle to steal important loot or free a hostage.  Most of that cannot yet be achieved via modding.  Fairies can be agile and good at magic, but that's about it.

Elves are also supposed to be agile and magically talented.  This ought to manifest itself in different ways.  Instead of being too small to hit, they should be graceful and evasive.  Instead of flying across the battlefield to distract the enemy healer, they could pin down the enemy healer with arrows.  A fairy might use magic to confuse and disrupt her foes, while an elf typically uses it to enhance her own abilities.  An elf and a fairy ought to behave very differently in terms of the jobs that they can perform, their interactions within the mansion, the sexual actions which they prefer, their tolerance of various drugs or foods, etc.  But at the moment they're somewhat interchangeable.  Even fairy wings are essentially just a cosmetic variable (similar to skin color); the ability to fly is almost never relevant for gameplay purposes.  It's possible for modders to create bizarre cosmetic combinations (e.g. blue-skinned quadrupedal winged gnomes), but it would be difficult for modders to make a new race feel unique and special.

Imagine that we create an ogre race.  Now try to imagine how they would differ from the existing orcs.

"Gruzbar the Orc strikes the foe with her warhammer for 14 damage!"

"Bazgrub the Ogre strikes the foe with her warhammer for 15 damage!"

"You insert your dick into Gruzbar's green orcish butthole!  Gruzbar has an orgasm!  You gain 2 mana!"

"You insert your dick into Bazgrub's grey ogrid butthole!  Bazgrub has an orgasm!  You gain 2 mana!"

Now imagine that horns become mechanically relevant during gameplay.  Perhaps they can be used to strike in combat, or a horned character is unable to wear armored helms, or horns can be used for leverage during oral sex.  The fact that ogres have horns (while orcs do not) creates an interesting dictinction between two races.  Imagine that body size becomes mechanically relevant, so that large creatures are much stronger but also more resource-intensive (they need larger rooms, more food, etc).   The fact that ogres are larger than orcs is now meaningful.  It might now be worthwhile for modders to create an ogre race.

And - as you've pointed out - the artwork collection is probably large enough that there are already a few ogre portraits available :)

some thoughts:

yes, this is some thing i have thought about a lot while playing. there are a lot of races already and some are not even useful right now for how the game currently works.

like elfs and dark elfs. if find they are not even worth picking up. i have two of them because they are story characters that join you, but they are not worth capturing because of stats and traits.

i do not recall ogres ever having horns. sorry. difference there in my perspective is size and strength. unfortunately the numbers are so tight on things within the races its hard to differentiate that. which brings me to another point that has been bugging me for a while about orcs. since when do orcs heal faster? orcs are typically very tough. however, healing faster is a troll thing. thats just my opinion, but the way i would do these things is like this..

Orc - Common - 15pts - 5 str / 4 agi / 1 mag / 5 end (Cannot Retreat. Gains +1 damage to all Swords)

Ogre - Uncommon - 16pts - 6 str / 3 agi / 2 mag / 5 end - (Crushing Blows: Great Hammers have a chance to deal 50% extra damage.)

Troll - Rare - 18pts - 5 str / 4 agi / 3 mag / 6 end - (Regeneration: Heal 100% faster)

i think this would make things more interesting tbh.

orcs would gain damage and since they are pretty common to being with they should have rounded stats. they are also pretty stupid... no magic.

ogres are basically one kind of giant. so they get more strength and they are naturally slower. their trait fits them.

trolls are another kind of giant. not as big as ogres though. they are magically imbued and regenerate really fast! so they have  high endurance and out of combat they can heal faster.

the stat numbers are really tight for all the races tbh. so its not like there is a lot of room to really differentiate races. i think that is one of the issues too.

Right now Strive's end game is extremely easy and it's actually easier to go with jack-of-all-trade character who can both magic and physical attack rather than a more min/maxed character (unless you talk about jobs which is better with a min/maxed character). My biggest problem with Strive's current design is the game lacks a true end game area, and the final boss is a complete joke in term of difficulties (and how he's written but that's a different topic). The area further from Amberguard which is locked by main quest feels more like a higher tier mid-game area rather than true end-game area, as I went for multiple item run and my biggest threat is not game over but running out of carry weight (and I didn't even bring high tier races like dragon). While I do enjoy relaxing game over hardcore challenging games, the lack of truly difficult areas that put a highly maxed out party at risk completely diminishes the climax of the story this game tells.

I think stuntcock was either thinking Warcraft ogres, or Japanese Oni since both do have horns if I remember correctly.
