I see the game is scheduled for Steam release later this year. What does purchasing this progress get you? Just the current progress, or will the amount increase and be the equivalent of the Steam version?

As you said, you just get access to it right now and will own it on Itch. The Steam version will essentially be the same game but on Steam and with Steam achievements. The main difference is if you want it here on Itch now at $5 for the base game or want to wait to get it on Steam at somewhere around ~$10-13 for the base game at the end of the year (Itch will raise in price before or at the same time as the Steam release). When we release then both the Itch and Steam version will be called something like "Book One" I believe and will end up with mostly the same content (other than a few minor things).

Yes. You will receive all progress updates for what will be considered "Book One" for A Shot in the Dark which will likely be ~6 chapters in total.

Yes. We built the entire in-game walkthrough and one of our team members, Hondo, created the in-depth Player's Guide (doc & PDF versions). Both of these will continue to be updated as we release new updates.

There are no current cheats in the game other than the code "OMEGA" which enables toggling of the script for those who enjoy a kink that typically goes with "landlady" & "roommate" games. This code is available to everyone. You can find more out about the game on our studio website too:
