I need help with preorder

My strategy game above will release 23.05.23., but I wished to place it available for preorder.

I ticked the This file is a preorder placeholder - box.
I added the game file.
The game appears on search.

But it can't be preordered. What can I do? / need to do different?

is preorder really afeature of itch? it does not go well with the usual lack of drm. you go page, you buy , you play. You need not even have an account to buy stuff here.

So they just make your file unavailable for the set time, iguess. but i agree, that does not sound like preorder.

Maybe ive misunderstood the idea on itch.io? I tried gathering info on preorders, and something came up on my search, I thought it's possible to put your game as a preorder here...
