Bug: Cannot Add, Remove, or Move Some Characters on Battle Group

At some point of my playthrough, I noticed that some of my characters cannot be moved around on the Battle Group grid at locations. If I try dragging them to a new position, the mouse cursor shows as the Do Not sign (The red circle with backslash symbol) and won't move the character if I let go of the mouse button if the cursor is on other Battle Group positions or in the Travelers box. The issue character will still relocate to other locations, including the manor.

Moving that character to another location will have it locked in the same position on the Battle Group grid. If a character with this issue travels to a location with another character already on the issue character's position, the issue character will be stuck in the Traveler box. Sometimes, if the other character is moved to the another position or sent to another location, the issue character will pop back that position in the Battle Group. A few characters will stay in the Traveler box, even when moved to a location with no other characters blocking its previous position.

I did notice that those issue characters were the character I had longest in the game, including the player and initial pick characters.

I think I started that playthrough in version 0.6.7. I will try to reproduce this on the latest version.

Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

You might need to use import function if your save is rather outdated. Besides that, character needs special training to be set to combat group

I`m having the same issue, i started the playthrough in version 0.6.10 and all the characters have "combatant".

in the save file the only line related i can see is: ,"combatgroup":""

is there something i can do other than starting a new playthrough ?

after i updated the game i have the same issue, any way to fix it?

Finally fixed mine. It turned out that one of the  mods I had enabled was causing this issue. After disabling all mods, restarting the game, and loading a save, it was fixed.

I found the specific one by enabling them one at a time. I'll see if there is a newer version of the mod and if it fixed the issue. If not, I'll see about letting the mod's author know that bug.

Same problem, it seems to randomly appear at some point in the game.

I tried turning off my mods, but it didn't help either.  Would be nice to get a short hotfix telling us which line in the save we'd have to change to make it work again.

Note: This was a completely new game, and it DID work at first. My guess is that either some of the classes or skills might be buggy.

It also still works with Quests that give you the normal menu with the plus sign, for example right before the Siege

In my case i cannot move only characters created beafore update. I tried removing mods and it fixed the issue.
