Hello! I'm new to the game development world! I've been struggling for the past year with trying to make games and finding out where to start. For example, I've tried Twinary but am unsure how to transform my work into a game ( and I'm no artist😭). I've been countlessly getting inspired by many others to try and make similar games, thinking it would be simple, but it's not. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to help me out? I would also love to connect with people who don't mind talking further about my situation, but for now, what are some tips and advice to point me in the right direction?

Tips. Don't be disheartened and don't expect financial reward. Make something thoughtful and unique. Always use correct spelling and grammar if possible. Be professional do what you believe in and don't give up.

Create content for your fans and treat them well and they well in turn treat you well. Help other Devs and don't go fishing for money or likes. E.G 'Somebody please buy my game I spent ages on it". So did everyone else on their own games.

Tricks. Follow devs who make similar content to your own. Use discord to advertise freely. Write thoughtful and extensive Devlogs to share your experiences with others.

Work hard to create a core group of followers even 5 or 10 is a good start. If you have trouble developing take a break and return later refreshed and reinvigorated. Don't scope creep beyond your means.

Good luck

Thank you for the tips!!💜

What kind of games are you hoping to make?

I would love to make story games. I don't mind the type like if it's an open world, RPG or VN. I just want to tell a story and display that vision - if that makes sense.

Open world games are ambitious. I've been caught out a few times with them. If you have realistic expectations you will succeed

Thank you again!!

Hello this is Gulshan Negi

Well, here are some tips to get started on this journey.

1. Start with small and simple projects

2. Learn a game engine

3. Learn a programming language

4. Practice, practice, practice

5. Find a community

6. Learn game design

7. Be patient

There are many online communities you can join, including game development subreddits, forums, and Discord servers. You can also attend local game development meetups or events to connect with others in person.

Thanks
