I’m writing this here in hope that someone can help me with this because I’m seriously out of options.

So yesterday I installed the itch app on my new PC. When I activated the sandbox, and then tried playing a game, it asked me if I would allow it to make the itch-player user profile on my computer, which I agreed to (I’ve had itch before on my old PC, but for some reason it never created a separate user like this, it just apparently did its job).

Later on I realized my files downloaded on a different drive from the one I wanted them to, so I moved everything, and then suddenly, if I wanted to start a game, it wouldn’t work, giving me an error message which said “access denied”. With a lot of trial and error, I figured out it was an issue with the sandbox, before if I unchecked the sandbox box and then tried playing the game again (and I tried with multiple games, by the way), then it worked.

So I thought I’d just uninstall and delete everything related to itch on my PC, and start again from step one and this time not move anything.

However after I did that, when I checked the sandbox box and then tried playing a game, instead of asking me if I would allow the app to install the itch-player user profile, it simply said “access denied” again.

I tried uninstalling and installing everything multiple times, but so far it hasn’t asked me to allow itch to install itch-player ever again.

And for those wondering, no I didn’t only uninstall the app, I also deleted the files in AppData so that I would truly start from a fresh start once I’d start installing the app again.

I know this is a long post, but I’m seriously out of options, does anybody have a clue as to what’s going on and can help me out? Thanks in advance!
