Slime Kingdom: Episode 1 - And so it begins...

This just an idea I've had kicking around in my head for sometime (like years) and I figure I might flesh it out a bit here and then when I've finished my current project, I can try my hand at this. Leave me your thoughts, ideas and feedback. T.I.A.

Story/Plot

A lowly slime barely survives an encounter with a hero and limps(?) his way home. He's mad about his lot in life as just a exp grab for some dimwitted hero. He's tired of the oppression of those wandering brutes and their swords and spells.

He decides to fight back and create a safe place for slimes of all kinds to have a safe place to ooze about their lives.

This is his story...

Setting

You know the basic trope. A mob decides to be a hero, after some kind of miraculous event. But THIS time, it's a slime determined to make a safe space for him and his. The world is just like any RPG world with heroes, demon kings, dragons, etc and our gooey little friend has to overcome them. He'll need some help to avoid being a smear on some adventurer's boot. Can he recruit a strong enough team to all to accomplish his almost impossible goal?

SLIMES come in many different forms, based on environment/element:

Snots: Poison

Nectars: Healing

Magmas: Fire

Clays: Earth

Rimes: Ice

Mosses: Plant

Custards: Lightning

Gels: Water

Meringues: Air

Slags: Metal

Game Mechanics/Features

-Saga Frontier style comb attack: When two or more party members have a high enough affinity, they can unleash a Mega Skill.

-Fusion Skills (element): party members can gain skills that are a fusion of another members element.

-Expandable Kingdom map: The members you recruit, the bigger your kingdom grows.

-Side-scrolling Maps: Because THEY'RE COOL!

-Sideview Battle System: Best fit for a game like this, IMHO...

-?Fusion?: Maybe the slimes can fuse together?

CHARACTERS

These are just concepts for now, will work to flesh these out over time.


That's it so far. Thoughts?  

Thanks to a very crazy April Fool's Week, I had a significant slow down in production with this, but it did yield good results. At this point, I'm pretty much done with this Ep (hopefully), and I get brainstorming on Episode 2!

As you may have seen already, I've added Gifts to the game where the player can do certain things or access different places they couldn't before.

Nectar's Regen gift in action!


Gifts are activated, depending on who is in the front party position. I used a convenient Party Switch system I evented to do this.

1. Re-balanced Enemy stats to make battles easier  and more enjoyable.

2. Changed MAP Event to be more functional and reduce errors.

3. Reduced Image and Audio files for easier download.

4. Streamlined the Syncho Charge system for greater playability.

5. Reduced size of Party Character sheets so they won't look like they're on top of each other.

6. Added Galv's Message Styles for Comic Balloon effect in dialogue.

7. Added Move Route Frame plugin to compliment above.

8. Added "Gifts" that offer abilities to help out the player.

9. Added an evented Party switch to make use of Party Gifts.

10. Added new maps.

11. Added a new Boss battle song.

1. Fixed error with Tutorials, so they wouldn't interfere with battles.

2. Fixed the aftermath of the Nectar fight in Murky Swamp where certain characters wouldn't disappear.

3. Fixed Synergy Charge where Magma appears when not in the party.

4. Fixed on-map Encounters to respawn correctly after the battle is over.

5. Fixed Map errors that repeated after player tries to go back to map.
