Unity WebGL dimension auto-detect and failure to play

Itch.io is awesome! Thank you to the devs for making it.

I have a prototype which is 480x 432y. On setting up the project (pw: money) on Itch, I chose to auto-detect the player settings. However, the setting were not detected, and I was directed to enter the numbers manually. It would be nice if the auto-detect worked.

Secondly, upon reload with manual dimensions, I got the 'Run Game' prompt. However, on clicking on this, the game did not manage to make it to displaying the Unity logo prior to gameplay - it seems to have frozen on initial load.

If anybody can help me resolve these issues, I would be very greatful.

So,  after a little research, it seems as though it's required to change the Compression Format (Project Settings -> Player -> WebGL -> Publishing Settings) to either Gzip or None. With either of these, the game loads on the Itch page as expected.

I haven't seen documentation on the site or on the project page to indicate that this is required - perhaps it would be worth adding a note to that effect on the project page?

Had the same problem exactly. took me over an hour to find the solution.

Now i'm handling auto play issues to move between scenes.
