why a 'relatio'meter' if in the end you get to choose routes? It makes no sense
A cyberpunk and solarpunk adventure-romance that explores a world where one side is forever day and the other, night. · By
Being able to choose your route and track your general affinity with characters are not mutually exclusive things. Sometimes both features exist together and allow the player a fuller experience by being able to continue to track their progress in the character route or to make a more informed decision about which route to play. =)
If you dislike the relationship metres, though, you don't have to use them at all! They're tucked away on their own screen so players can ignore them if they want. ^_^
I loved the relatio'meter, it is just gave the idea that you can focus on focus on investiganting on the factions and which kind of leader to become and only chosing the partner later in the game... but I guess it is a hard narrative writting if you allow that much of freedom, you already includes three different types of personality treats which it is impressive...
Initially I had the idea for something more faction oriented, but did ultimately abandon it because it was too complex and there were also LIs added later on that were from other factions. (Reuben, Quill, and Lance are all unaligned with the two main factions).
Ultimately the relationship metres in this game just exist because signposting to players what effect their choices are having is always difficult in a visual novel absent some kind of visual. So they ultimately became a "Did the LI like that choice" sort of indicator. LoL! OwO
It is atually cool... It must be a huge effort to write with multiple variable, in the game 'dead dating' there is something similar, but you are open to interact with everybody during the main plot and only after it is closed the player is free to engage in a relationship among the characthers that the MC reached the 'in love' status... I thought yours would be similar, but route games are also awesome, the important is the quality of the story ;)
