I am working on a roguelite game where you work for a company called the Hunter Gather Division. The basic lore is that portals started to appear on earth and from the portals monsters, machines, and other creatures started to appear. In the face of this disaster the HGD was formed, they're goal is to control these portals along with the collecting resources that are inside. The game has a website attached to it: https://sites.google.com/view/huntgatherdivision/home which acts as a easy way to read about the lore, find crafting recipes, ect.
Sadly I am the only one programing the game so I don't have a lot of time to work on making stories for the lore so the website is very bland. I am looking for writers to help me make short stories/incident reports/mission logs! Incident reports take place on earth. a Incident report usually revolves around the opening of a portal or the escape of a monster from a portal. Here is an example of a Incident report:
It quickly documents the first portal opening in the US in a timeline with small details added in for the imagination. Incident reports dont always have to be in this fashion either, they can be in a first person narrative like a survivor being interviewed or they can be a 3rd person narrative like someone watching a found footage tape.
Mission logs usually take place inside of the portals/other dimensions so feel free to go wild with them, since each portal is a different dimension discrepancies are fine. Also don't feel tied down by the monsterpedia (monster manual thing), feel free to make your own entities and creatures! -If you do adding them as a entry to the monsterpedia would be nice tho ;)
The short stories can really be anything, like maybe a short story of 2 creatures of a different species cooperating together, the diary of a civilian trapped in a portal, a entry from a new recruits diary, ect!
Basically the Incident reports are to add to the past lore, the mission reports are for the present lore, and the short stories are mainly just for fun but they also help to entertain the player while the games being worked on lol
