I was working on a project seven years ago, but I stopped. Now, I am thinking of going back to it.

I am in the early stages of developing the game that includes unique features such as a gravity system, character walking mechanics, and semi-spherical planet-based enemy AI. I am also implementing a flying and landing system for both planetary and interplanetary travel, as well as a versatile camera system to enhance the player's experience.

In addition, I am creating the initial aesthetic and atmosphere for the game using both 3D art assets and modifying pre-existing ones. The game is being developed using Unity and C#.

I would like to know what you think of this idea and if you would recommend continuing with it. Additionally, I would like to know if there are any suggestions or feedback you have for this project. Are there any potential issues or problems that I should be aware of? Are there any specific features or elements that you think would enhance the overall player experience?

Overall, I am excited to continue developing this project and am open to any suggestions or feedback that can help improve it.

I appreciate your understanding of the challenges in game development and your recognition of the special qualities of my game idea. I had put the development on hold, but now I am motivated to give it my time and effort. What do you think about it, buddy?

I've watched couple minutes of the video and.... I'm puzzled. What is the goal of this game? I thought it's about colonizing a planet but it turns out, player left before anything is done to the planet (or did I miss anything?). Then there's part where player is in control of different model being chased by other models for no reason. The only things I saw from the video are player going to a planet then avoid any contact with other models. I stopped watching because I couldn't find any interesting thing.

So the very first thing you need to tell watchers is : what actually your idea is. If it's about surviving in random planet then show player gathering food, killing animals etc, if it's about exploration then show player traveling on the planet revealing anything the planet has to offer. If it's about hunting certain resources then show player searching for them.

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and provide your feedback. I appreciate your thoughts and understand that the goal and purpose of the game was not clear in the video. I will be sure to work on conveying the goal more clearly in future videos and gameplay. I will also take your suggestions on board and work on adding more elements to make the game more engaging, such as a story and objectives. I appreciate your help in making this game better and will keep you updated on its progress , Could you please elaborate on what you believe the goal and purpose of the game should be in your opinion? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how the game could be developed.

Hmm.... from what you have currently, there are 2 goals (at least) your game could be both focuses on exploration : hunting for materials or hunting for certain creature.

When game starts, player is given goal on what material or creature to hunt. Each goal has a catch:

1. Materials are buried or at least require extracting tool such as pickaxe to pick rocks, shovel to dig and axe to chop plants and trees. IOW player must be on ground to extract them.

2. Creatures are visible and can be seen while riding the ship but they will always ran away when ship flies near them. IOW player must be on ground to capture them. Each creature has its own method to capture.

Player can get information to find and how to extract each material or to capture each creature from NPCs.

From this you can add danger such as spikes, spiky plants, toxic ponds to dangerous creatures who will chase player. For difficulty progression, you can have first mission or planet be free of danger, then the second one have a few danger and so on.

You basically have a lite version of No Man’s Sky — which is very cool!

But I also have to agree with what DarkBloodBane was saying; “What is the goal of this game?” Are you going for a 4x style? Just exploration? City-builder? Something else?

Because your game does have a lot of resemblance to No Man’s Sky, I would work very hard towards making it different from that game. It’s been a while since I’ve played NMS, but I’ve always felt that the planets in that game felt very empty with not much to actually do. But because your planets are much smaller, that would be a great opportunity to make each one truly unique.

Thank you for your feedback on my game idea. I appreciate your comparison to No Man's Sky and agree that it does share some similarities. However, I also see the potential for my game to stand out with its smaller planets and unique features.

In light of your comment, I plan to focus on making my game truly unique by emphasizing the unique features and gameplay elements that I have planned. This includes a specific goal or objective for the player, different types of gameplay, and unique planet designs. I also plan to research similar games to see what features and gameplay elements have been well-received by players, and to design my game to appeal to my target audience.

Thank you for your suggestions and for helping me to see the potential for my game to stand out in the market.

That is if I completed it of course, and if you have suggestions on how to make it a successful game, I am all ears, and thank you for your time.
