Script error running game

Hi there, I'm completely new to the game and far from tech savvy (so forgive me for lack of knowledge).

I've not long downloaded the game and I noticed that every time I try to run it, I get this script error come up.I'm not sure if it's a download error where I've done something wrong or not etc etc.. But I'd really like to see what this game is like and play it, so if anyone can help that would be amazing :)

Thanks in advance!

weird... that isnt the error you are supposed to get...

you may have a corrupted file... kinda obvious, but downloading the game again should solve it.

if you saved/are running the game from "c:\program files", it may have some permission problem, in that case, running as admin or changing the game folder out of "program files" should work.

after you get the "opengl 3.3" error, and if you are stuck with the dammed optimus technology, you may try the x32 game version, remember to run with the graphic card.

the actual version of godot (the striveforpower game engine) requires opengl 3.3, so if you graphic card doesnt support it, you probably cant play the game.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've just done a full fresh install, tried the game in c: and d: but I still get the exact same error. I don't have "godot" downloaded? So maybe I could try that. Other than that I've tried with administrator/no permission issues. Not really sure if i'm honest

I suppose this error is triggered because you haven't a portraits folder. Just make an empty folder and call it "portraits". If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), it should be created in the same directory containing the "saves" folder and the "settings.ini" and "progressdata" files.
Even better, download a portrait pack. :)

I've just downloaded a portraits pack but I cant seem to find any of the files you've just mentioned, so I'm not sure where to place this folder. Any insight? Thanks :)

It depends on your operative system. Probably somewhere like that:
- C:\users\[YOUR_NAME]\appdata\Roaming\Strive2
- C:\users\[YOUR_NAME]\Application Data\strive2

Edit: try also only "Strive", without the ending "2".

Oooh looks like so far so good! Thank you very much. I'll post again if I have any issues :)
