Why did my payment get denied?

I requested to get paid, I filled out the tax stuff, you send me a letter saying you want to let me know that you need to deduct 30% because I'm from Taiwan (Steam deducts 30% of USA sales only.), you send me another letter saying you r cancelling my payment request, and I check my payment information and all the money I asked to for is gone, and there's no one to contact on this website.

Using this website feels like a fraud where itch.io sells my game and takes all my money and never pays me.

Hello,

We explained in the email that we sent you that we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to confirm that their tax information is correct. In order to do that, the easiest way would be to cancel the pending payout requests and have people re-open a payout request when they are sure it's correct. There are quite a few people who filled out the form without all the information and had a much higher rate than they should have received. It's impossible for us to determine who may have filled out the form incorrectly, so everyone who submitted before a specific date with the 30% rate was part of the groups that got that notice and their pending payout requests canceled.

Only the payout request was canceled. No money has disappeared, it was put back into the pool of available funds to withdraw. You'll need to create a new payout request.

Hope you understand, and sorry for the trouble. Thanks

I requested new payment then.

But it doesn't explain why you take 30% off non-USA sales.  Steam only takes 30% off sales made from USA customers, not from customers from around the world.

Hello,

We're clarifying with our accountant right now, but essentially we only have a US presence, so all earnings go into the United States, and are paid from the United States. It's possible Steam may have presence in multiple countries to work around this issue. We're looking to see what we can do to help make this better.

Thanks

Hello. I have my payment set on “Directly to you”, but the “New Project” page keeps telling me that my payment method isn’t configured. Is this a bug or is there something I need to do to fix it?

You should create your own topic or contact support.   This issue with me has been resolved.
