How Does the Autocomplete Feature in the Search Bar Work?

How are the auto results created for itch. I'm just curious because when I just click on the search bar things I've never looked up here become recommended search results, kind of like a google autocomplete. And I was wondering why this was happening or how I can clear it or turn it off.

I'm not familiar with what part of the site you're talking about. Is it possible to show a screenshot?

If you're talking about the search input in the red header on the top of every itch.io page, we don't have autocomplete there. So if you're seeing autocomplete it's coming from your browser.

If you're seeing something then it's from your browser. You'll have to clear your browser's data in order to remove them. itch.io does not implement an autocomplete right now.
