HELP! I Ruined my copy of the itch.io App

I wanted to move my AppData folder for the itch.io app from C Drive to D Drive on my computer, but then I had the bright idea to delete the folder all together!

Here's what I get when I try to log on through the App:

  • Error: net::ERR_FAILED at ClientRequest.req.on (C:\Users\Alia\AppData\Local\itch\app-23.6.3\resources\app.asar\appsrc\util\net.ts:118:14) at emitOne (events.js:96:13) at ClientRequest.emit (events.js:191:7) at URLRequest._emitRequestEvent (C:\Users\Alia\AppData\Local\itch\app-23.6.3\resources\electron.asar\browser\api\net.js:89:24)

Help Me!!

Hello,

The only way to recover will probably be to delete the entire data directory for the itch.io app. You'll have to log into the app again, and update any settings that you may have set. From the error that you pasted, it looks like the directory is at "C:\Users\Alia\AppData\Local\itch"

If you're worried about deleting it and losing information, you can rename the folder to something else and try starting up the app. Make sure the app is fully closed and not running before you rename or delete the directory.

Thanks

Actually I...Permanately deleted the AppData Folder. If that's anything to go by...

Update: You know what? I think I'll stick with downloading games from the website. -_-

If you deleted the entire AppData folder then you may have caused an issue with your operating system. Can you try recreating it? It should be fine if it's empty. Many programs you've installed probably depend on it existing.

Okay, I made a new AppData folder in (C:) Drive. Now what?
