Deathchase is the latest installment in my 12 month long Spectrum remake challenge in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
Originally released in 1983 by MIcromega, Mervyn Estcourt's amazing game was somewhat unusual at the time in that it worked even on the 16K version of the Spectrum, quite an achievement.
This is a modern remake of the original game, not a clone, taking advantage of modern capabilities to a degree, while remaining faithful to the original gameplay and feel. It was created in Godot in a total of about 26 hours between the 3rd and 24th September.
