Platform for educational games

Hello everyone, I develop games for teaching subject  topics to school students, especially geography. And now I am putting a platform together for educational games only; which students can access to learn. Anyone interested in hosting their games (educational ones only) on our platform, you can reach out to me at akshay@prayogg.com. Share your game trailer and a summary of which educational topic your game covers.

What a developer gets:

  1.  Zero listing fees
  2. 1000 USD, Upfront payment that will help to cover some costs of the developers
  3. Once approved and listed on the platform, developer gets paid for each download

The educational topics around which you have developed your game can be anything ranging from geography to mathematics, but it should be a game and not gamification for the sake of it (an example of our game shared below for reference). The aim of this platform is to make learning easier and fun for the kids.

Example of our game: "The Terrain Trooper" is a FPS game to teach students about Topography maps and how to use them. The player/student has to decode the clues and use the topography maps to locate the terrorists.

I'm interested but I have a few questions. First, how "professional" does the game have to be? I know the game should be fun and engaging for kids, but can it be games as simple as things you find on cool math games (asking mostly in terms of art quality)?

Second, is there an age requirement for this job? I am still in high school, but am looking for opportunities in game development.

Thanks for showing your interest.

The art quality is important, but if your game is effective (in terms of teaching subject topics), then we can help you with improving the aesthetics. It should not be a pick and place or choosing answers from MCQ type game. We are promoting game based learning and not gamification.

There is no age requirement.

Once I start making a game, how long would you want it to take; I'm sure you wouldn't want anyone to be making a game for your platform that'll take them a year. What is a good gameplay length for your platform?

You're giving each team 1000 USD upfront to help pay for development right? How much are we getting paid for per download afterwards?

So we pay only post the game is developed and is meeting the educational objective. But if you need to be sure if the educational objective is met we can provide an initial feedback before you start developing so that you are assured of getting your costs recovered. After listing on website you can expect 1-2 USD per download.

You can share your email id, we will forward more details and a list of topics you can choose from

My email is unitysolostudios@gmail.com

Looks interesting, I'd need to ask couple questions :

1. Is there any requirements for the game, such as resolution, OS etc?

2. Can you describe your definition of educational?

3. Must the game be free?

4. Can the game be uploaded elsewhere aside of your platform?

Thanks for your interest

  1. Windows
  2. Our target audience is students between grade 7 to 10, so topics related to geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology are what we are looking for. We would prefer if the gameplay is designed in a manner where the real world application of these topics are brought within the game. You can refer one of our games example mentioned in the post above. To give you another example of our games: We have a virtual super market game where students can learn concepts of profit, loss, interest, discount by running and managing profitability of their super market.
  3. We will be charging the audience a monthly subscription for the platform, so you get paid for every download made of your game. And we pay 1000usd to reimburse part of your development cost
  4. No. As we try to support the development of this game it has to be exclusively hosted on our platform for first 3 years, later you can upload elsewhere.

You can share your email id, we will forward more details and a list of topics you can choose from

Thanks for the answers, my email address is dewodpnx@yahoo.com .

This is a question just for insurance, but where are you getting the money to pay every team 1000 USD? Additionally, are you giving the team 1000 USD post the development of each game we make? I believe that before I start assembling a team of developers, I need to understand how I can pay each member and how I can do that if we plan to make more than one game

Do we just email you to get started? I emailed you but you haven't responded in a while.
