I'm looking to buy the steam version of the game, but I wanted to know if the itch.io and steam version are exactly the same, because I want to follow the game and its updates because I don't want to buy the game twice.
The Steam and the itch io version are the same. the only difference is that on itch.io you have access to the android version, and a cloud save system that allows you to start playing on a device, and continue on another (ex: PC to Android)
On Steam, you don't have the Android version, but the game uses Steam's cloud save.
