Pellet Packer: Cookie Crunch is an odd platformer where you have to take out six Chaser Defenses in each level in order to make it to the next one. After every four levels is a boss fight. The controls can be really strange at first, but thankfully there is a prepackaged manual on the title screen that explains everything.

It's a really unique concept in the way it plays. I haven't seen many games lately that have a free-floating mouse be a huge part of the control scheme, especially for a platformer. The main platforming levels were interesting, occasionally adding new mechanics/cookies to the mix. The boss fights felt totally different from the rest of the game, as Chomper is free-floating throughout, collecting cookies to shoot at the Chaser while you have to keep track of a lot of things on the screen, including boxes to click, and in later fights, projectiles and more chasers. While only taking me a few attempts, they can get frustrating.

I was able to get through everything in a few hours. Overall it was a fun time, but sometimes I felt the boss fights were a bit frustrating and the first set of postgame levels seemed a little flat compared to the earlier ones.

Hello Crooked Beaker, thank you so much for trying my game and your review!! It's helpful feedback like this that helps me to get better at making fun games. :)

I am glad you were able to get enjoyment out of the game! I thought it would be a unique and interesting thing to try and make a platformer that controls entirely with a mouse cursor, which made this game perfect for the Pellet Packer series (which currently only has one other game, "Pellet Packer: Micro Munch", which is an arcade-style game with similar controls to the boss fights in this game). I am also glad to hear that the manual was helpful!! I was hoping it would guide players through the somewhat unintuitive mechanics.

I'm sorry to hear that the bosses were a bit frustrating, and I can see what you mean about some of the post-game levels being less interesting than the ones throughout the main game, I was a little worried about that before the game came out. I will try to put more care into the next post-game content I create!

I appreciate the feedback and it's great to see that someone enjoyed my game enough to 100% it! :) If you'd ever be interested in learning more about me or my games, or maybe even helping to test some pre-release products, then feel free to add me on Discord: FormulaFanboyFFIB#3591

Thank you and have a great day!

Hell yeah, I'll add you! I'd love to talk dev stuff and test some stuff out!

Expect a friend request real soon. ;)
