Itch Launcher crashes on Linux (Manjaro KDE).

The itch launcher that installs through the itch-setup script, crashes on launch. A grey window pops up and goes away immediately. I am on Manjaro KDE. I tried installing from AUR and running the script directly from the itch.io/app webpage, same results.

Also, is there a way to run games without the Itch launcher? Thank you. :)

Yes, of course. You can run almost any game without the launcher. Most creators don't require it. Simply download them from the site, unpack and run.

I installed Itch tonight on a fairly new install of Manjaro and had exactly the same problem. While I take the point of not needing the launcher, I do like this to organise my games (especially as I was about to support the Ukraine pack) so is there some trick to getting this running anyone knows? Thanks

my launchers and shows a white screen for a second then closes i think its because i installed java because it works fine when java is not installed but then i cant play games that have jar files

I also use Manjaro and have been having the same problem.

Finally had time to do some digging and found when running the itch binary directly the terminal reported 'GPU process isn't usable'.

The solution was to add '--no-sandbox' to the launch command.

itch --no-sandbox

Found the solution at [Arch Linux] GPU process isn't usable #23608

Many thanks for this - I hadn't considered looking in the Arch forum - a learning for me :)

Thanks a lot. This worked for me :)
