HYPERLIMINAL

Hello all and thanks for reading. I'd like to introduce a project I've been working on for a few months that I call Hyperliminal. It is a 3D exploration-based game in which you explore the twisted world of a nightmarish recurring dream. There is more information about the title on the game's itch page and I don't want to repeat verbatim what is already stated on there, but I will post the synopsis:

"You have been involved in an automobile accident that has left them in a state of comatose for weeks. After waking, you have been having a surreal recurring dream that appears every night, leaving you desperate for answers and understanding. As more and more episodes pass, they begin to think that the dream is somehow related to the accident itself.

Seeking professional help, your psychiatrist suggests hypnosis in an attempt to get to the deeper possible connection between the dream and the traumatic experience. The events of the game are the retelling of the dream itself."

I hope to have this title up and running in the next month or two, but there is still much work to be done.

Please check out the official itch.io page for more screenshots and a short teaser trailer that I made.

Hello,

I've been updating the game pretty regularly while trying to keep focused on getting a realistic release date. By that, I mean that it has become very easy to find little things here and there to nitpick and redo when I need to accept some things as finished and move on from there.

I recently uprooted and relocated an entire zone in order to be able to squeeze another new zone in there. That was an undertaking but I'm glad that it's finished. That being said, the level development is now entirely finished, and all that is needed is Audio and testing.

I still need to break down and tackle the voice narration. Stay tuned.

As of last post

-Added new zone, bringing the total amount of zones to 11.

-Added a new enemy (well, a few, but one enemy area).\

-Cleaned up the cutscene cameras.

-Added various music and sound effects.

-Fixed some things that I had broken earlier on due to inexperience :)

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions on what you would like to see!

-Andy

Added a very brief new dev blog post regarding the completion of some intro cinematics as well as posted a short minute-long video. Keep in mind the character model lying on the couch is a place-holder to test out the camera and I intend to make this look significantly less lame in the future! :)

Thanks for reading/watching,

Andy

Been messing around with some animation editing and losing my focus because it's easy to get carried away and just play with them like they're toys! It's not my strong suit by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't say I'm not hooked. Gave this creepy little guy a fun pose.

"This is usually about the time I first see him..."

"Who? Who do you see?"

"I'm still not sure. the mystery man...the man with a black mouth...the 'Dread Inspector'".
