I have to say, I've never considered what it would mean to play a JRPG when you can't read the text, other than a time where a relative of mine let me try his Chinese version of Mario & Luigi: Brothers in Time.
With no context, I found myself relying on the attack commands early on because we all know that the command at the top is always reserved for 'Attack.' After that, I figured that the item in the first inventory slot was a healing potion, and I was pleased to see that my intuition was correct.
Then, once I got the skills to show up, I figured that the skills at the bottom of the skill menu of characters #1, #2, and #5 (Chikondi, Coilean, and Mahmud) would be powerful AOE attacks, and they were powerful.
I think I got pretty far, but then the game crashed for some reason.
I'd be interested in seeing more of this game in the future, with updates.
