How to make a limited reward that is cheaper than the full game work?

Hey everyone!

I wanted to give some players an option to buy the game for a cheaper price. Similar to community copies but for 50% off instead of  being totally free. I could set it up and everything but I just got a message from a potential buyer that they could not go through with it. So I assume that I set up something wrongly and now I'm not entirely sure if that's even doable. Thought I'd ask around to find out.

So to reiterate:

  • Full game costs 16$
  • Community Copy reward costs 8$ but with limited number. 
  • User can not purchase Community Copy reward.

Can I make this work somehow or do I need to create some other construction with a sale for this to work? To quote the help docs:

Providing “early-bird” discounts
You can set a reward price lower than your project’s price. Combined with a limited quantity on the reward, you can give your first visitors a discount on your project as a way to say thanks. Rewards come with any files and external keys that would be included in a regular purchase.
