Bug report. CSP is seriously unwell.

I started the game with Darni, Verna, Leah nun and Angela cheerleader. After the first hand the game screen goes black frequently and for long periods. Clicking on a player's icon doesn't bring up a new image. The game controls, such as deal, stop responding and refreshing to clicks....

Bug report 2: restarted the game with different opponents, Left Darni and Verna in, took Leah out and went for Denise in the lounge. The game the game then froze ass I asked for a random opponent.

Bug report 3. Tried a full set of the coffee nook. Initially it seemed to work better, then it all went south again. After the first two hands, the black screen was back, loads of freezing, shawna's 2nd composite wasn't being drawn in, as well as the bugs mentioned above. Tried a full lounge set, so no bonus opponents involved. Turned the music back on, in case that was the issue. First hand worked fine, after that, black screen, freezes, etc. So it's not bonus opponents causing this.

Weird, it works fine for me.  I've seen the black screens before, usually something to do with running out of memory.

Can you try the following two things (separately and together), and tell me if either helps?

  • Turn off both music and sound effects, then restart the game
  • Try starting the game either with the CSP.exe file, or by double-clicking csp.jar

That was the problem. The new CSP.exe wasn't allocating enough max-memory by default and running out quickly.  Download California Strip Poker 1.0.1, and that should fix it.

Thanks for reporting that.  Let me know if the fix helped you or not.

Yep, the new version works just fine. 馃榾

Here's a little bug-finding reward for you.  Look for a California Strip Poker 1.0.2 coming super soon!

This poker game must've happened after they split up and sent Snaggy and Scoopy to look for clues the other way. Well played, Ferd.

LOL, that's funny.
