The other day I had posted a topic on Bug Reporting. By reading it now it looks as if I was saying "don't post in this area unless you have a bug".

That is not the case. Please feel free to talk about the Game!

Why is this cheaper than EDEE?

There were more options in EDEE then there is for EDCE.   But then again EDCE is using the unity engine.

So EDEE built from scratch while EDCE was built with unity's tool kits etc...

Hey. I just bought the EDCE. I had played EDIE up until now. That was publish in 2003, I believe. I purchased this to get more control over maps, get harder opponents,  etc. Today's day 1, so take this with a grain of salt. But I notice... challenges... already:

(1) The UI kinda stinks now. It is no longer like a Windows app. Rather, it looks like a hokey Linux app with a bad front end. It used to have clear drop down menus, and the graphics were much clearer. Now everything is a button. Is this due to the fact that it is no longer Windows specific (but works on Macs and Linux, too? I just saw reference to the Enhanced Edition. Should I have gotten that one instead?

(2) I have a multi-monitor setup. But I cannot move the game to a different monitor. Is there a workaround for this? (Do I need EDEE?)

Also, this is a nit, but the keyboard commands are somewhat different. For instance, previously if I was on the current unit and hit X, the unit would go to explore. Now I have to find and then press the button. That's annoying. But.. I'm guessing someone figured out how to do this?

Hi Bob,

I cannot answer if EDEE would be better for you. Some veterans favor EDIE and EDEE.  Vast majority are playing this version though.

The Interface has changed, and yes it is do the the unity platform and the multi platform nature of it.

In the main screen,  lower left corner there is a toggle for window or full screen. You might experiment with that.

Also,   in game up top-right you will see a keyboard icon, there you can set the keybindings for your account the way you want it.

Congrats on the newest maps/scenarios, Mark. I think I'm still about 20 hours into my latest campaign, spread out over months.

Any plans to institute 10-space Radar units on land or sea?  I guess they'd be amphibious.

Still a fine program. Sorry, inspires a lot of suggestions.

Hope your holidays are well spent and whatever difficulties you encounter are surmountable.

Best as always,
Loren S. Miller

I can't figure out how to repair a ship. In the old version (years ago), you must go to port and wait. This version has a repair button, half the time it's disabled, the other times it doesn't work. I'm playing advanced with some modifications.

The rest and repair button should be active when it is in a city.   The unit needs rest after combat and can do this anywhere (not move)   If the unit takes hits, it can only repair at the city (or port in the ship case).

One hit point per turn when not moving in city

One point less of fatigue when not moving. It will repair before rest.
