SUGGESTION: Camera Targeting

Have you ever fought Srgt. Suckerpunch and had a mental breakdown trying to figure out where he's at as he flies everywhere? Have you ever been killed by Mrs. Slitherss after she smashes into you from nowhere after you swear she was nowhere nearby? Well, you need the Camera Targeting feature! Simply press the tab button, target an enemy, and the camera immediately locks on to that monster! No more missing all your shots with the pineapple, no more running around trying to figure out where the boss is! What do you guys think?

I am very interested in what you guys think. Ive been thinking of doing camera lock on target, the only 'problem' is that weapon swings are linked to the camera. You'd only be able to control your weapon with the mouse button unless I unlinked it but still locked the camera which might be confusing.

Ranged weapons currently fire based on where they are physically pointing in the game, but I am considering making them aim forward (or at the tab target) a bit automatically.

In my opinion that is the best case though: camera lock on target, change target by moving mouse in direction of new target. Let there be an options menu to configure this behaviour if youd rather move your weapon independently from the locked camera.

Finally I've been considering freeing the player from the camera completely, so that the player faces the direction they walk (like dark souls.) Then you would be able to swing your weapon by walking in circles (which turns the player) or by clicking. This might not be a problem if I can implement some weapon swing skills with built in animations like horizontal or vertical swings.

In the meantime though I think camera lock on tab target without any further changes might be a good way to go ^^ thanks for bringing it up.
