Hello!
We have been working on a survival-sandbox sci-fi themed game called Terafall for just over a year. We've finally managed to get the game to a first playable alpha stage, the first ever playable version of Terafall, and it is here on itch.io!
This current build is version 0.0.1v, and therefore expect bugs. Some of the core mechanics and features are currently implemented, however future updates will include additional content, bug fixes, and features.
Currently, this build serves almost as a tech demo. You can start a new game, select one game mode, create a character with some light customization, and will spawn in the open sandbox world. The world is huge and procedurally generated and thus nearly infinite at this stage, however it will be capped later. There are different biomes, enemies, NPCs, dungeons, etc, to explore.
This build is for those who want to try out the core concept of the game and see what it will be about. Since this is the first playable version, there will be drastic changes and updates made before the full version 1.0 is released. Please report all bugs, glitches and feature requests to us to help make this game the best it can be!
Current Features:
Massive procedurally generated world (literally infinite at this time as it is procedurally generated endlessly)
Six playable races with their own abilities and some light character customization
Seven different biomes with their own flora and fauna
A crafting system that allows you to craft items from gathered materials
building system that allows you to build bases, structures such as ore drills, wind turbines, solar panels, etc using gathered materials
perk system, use gained experience points to unlock and improve perks
endless procedurally generated dungeons such as caves, mines, and ruins containing loot and other stuff...
Collect resources by mining, woodcutting, and looting enemies or containers
durability system - weapons and armor have durability and need to be repaired
dynamic weather - different weather types for each biome, and hazardous freak weathers like flare storms, magnetic storms, acid rain, etc
huge bosses - each biome has a rare chance to spawn a huge and powerful boss (although they will be likely far too strong than you will make it to in the alpha and they don't have good loot yet so not worth killing)
randomized NPCs around the world that you can interact with and may share useful information, give you something, trade with you, or attack you
two current factions the MIC who have flying cargo ships and general vendors. Current consequences of attacking these groups can lead to them attacking you on sight or sending bounty hunters after you
day/night cycle with different creatures coming out at different times
Let us know what you think!
