Lag?

I dont know why but my setup runs games like Skyrim on Ultra no problem, but Forager has some freezes. The game does not look to intense on the FPS. I also would like to know if you are able to go into the systems menu. I can't so i would like to know if thats a bug too.

System menu was never fully implemented in the demo, I am sorry about that!

Can you share your PC specs? That's weird, Forager should run fine on your PC!

every half minute, it lags for a second (freezing) my computer is not the best, but it have some power to it. what is the problem??

The same thing is happening to me. I tried it on both of the available versions of the game. I have tried restarting my computer and re-downloading the game multiple times. Computer specs are as follows:

Processor: Intel I7-3770 3.4 GHz

GPU: AMD R8 280X 6GB

Ram: 8GB

If you need anything else let me know.

It has come to my attention that due to the way GameMaker compiles games anti-virus type software identifies the executable as a virus or malware. Try disabling anti-virus and executing Forager with admin privileges and tell me what happens!

Don't have any antivirus software installed. Disabled windows firewall. Deleted game and all saves (Including Folder in App Data). Re-downloaded the gave (A-6). Ran as Administrator. Still lagged. Takes about 15-30 seconds after loading in any save to start lagging but afterwards it happens around every 10 seconds and "freezes for about 1.5 seconds. Ram usage was around 2.5 GB, idk if that's normal or not.

Having similar lag issues when a few items pile up near forges. Not many items though.

Processor: AMD FX-8320 3.0GHz

GPU: 2x AMD 5770HD 2GB

Ram: 8GB

Tried restarting with administrator, was better, but I suspect it has something the do with the game running for awhile. Although CPU isn't particularly high at 5%.

Well lag is back, but GPU utilization doesn't go beyond 40% and CPU stays low as well. Seems to be over time.

How many fish traps do you have? Do you have a mining laser up?

I had somewhere around 6 fish traps. Lag was present without the mining laser, but just two later on. When a few items piled up around them there was a noticeable FPS drop, but the item piles were from just one or two rocks.

never ever let itens on the ground, they will cause a LOT of lag, as well as fish trap!

The lag occurs before I even break something on a brand new game (also no fish traps)

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know the new codebase is MUCH more efficient in the new Steam version. I tried to go back to the demo and make some of the code more efficient but at this point it's a mess and it will take me forever.

I realize where most of the mistakes I made are, though. Since I had to make the original game in just 2 weeks for a jam, I made a lot of design choices that were implemented in just straight out weird ways. Resources (the little floating pick ups) most noticeably... Try to have as few as possible of those on the map at the same time!

For those that have instant lag no matter what they do as soon as they fire up the game. Does that happen with other GameMaker made games that you know of?

I did just double check and the lag starts at about the 12-13 second mark and lasts for about 1-2 seconds. The lag reoccurs for the same length of time every 5-8 seconds after that. This was all before I mined anything. I also downloaded a different GameMaker game and there was no lag. But a steam version sounds promising.  Do you have any ideas for a standard/Early Access release date?

I have the same problem, and my PC has more requirements than the game needs.
