Disaster Sticky

Hi, this is not an elaborate lie to get myself more days to get this update out. We've been struck by disaster, in Belgium the flood has destroyed our village. Our home has been flooded up to two stories. The kitchen, living room, bathroom, it rose so quickly we only managed to save little. We can't live there, we had to find shelter at my husband's parents' place. This happened the 14th of July. The update might seem like it's 3 days of work away but I don't have all of my tools here and quite frankly, I need some time to take the full impact. If you want to see what happened I redirect you to my twitter : https://twitter.com/ghuraok

I'm not giving up on the update, I will release it, but with all the cleaning, rebuild, paperwork and the fact I no longer have privacy over what I work on being at my parents-in-law's place, it's going to take a moment before I can give you a day, it might honestly drop in the month without notice, that's how unpredictable my work time will be.

Jesus christ , Glad nothing happened with you , and i hope nothing happened with a close person , some people even died in the disaster, I also hope your house didn't get any major hits by the water.

I am kinda scared you didn't give up the update , in this state , i believe you should priorize you mental health over the game as the ambient and situation will generate stress , and as you are a artist , you use alot of energy for you work , imagination isn't a free coin. If you get any energy , you should focus on patreon and comissions , wich can help you to get recover from danified objects.

in resume , DO NOT TOUCH IN THE GAME PLEASE , FOCUS IN YOUR HEALTH.

Kisses and take care <3.

Will you stop saying nonsense? Working on something you enjoy is not bad for mental health, in fact, it usually keeps your mind grounded and distracted from problems. If anything, working on the game or anything else he likes would be an excellent idea.

I think that's not what i wanted to express ,  drawing and make games is really fun , and can aliviate stress , but it uses energy.

I used to do coding and write stories for hours when i was younger , wich was very fun , but overtime , wanting or not , it creates stress and can lead to a creative burnout ( a complete pain ). Just don't whant him to overdo himself and somenthing related happen to him , that happens with all types of artists , from Visual artist , Songwriters and Coders.

Don't worry I know you just wanted to slap me away from stress and put me in a comfortable sofa with my Nintendo switch, some tea and a blanket <3

While I agree that stopping the momentum on the game's development would bring my mental state further down, I did find myself needing an absurd amount of rest. I can barely focus for 3 to 4 hours before exhausting my energy. I'm not doing great, but I do find comfort in knowing I've done a few backgrounds since the flood, some writing as well. It's not much, but it does help. It's a mix, I need both to advance of work and give myself the time to recover, we can't have one without the other otherwise stress ends up eating you regardless.  But I know while taking opposite positions, you both want me to get better and that's all that matters to me, so thank you <3

Thank you, I think work altogether is difficult to get back into, I get back into the game every now and then, just to keep things going but mentally and physically, I did feel exhausted for the past 2 weeks. I do feel better now, not great, still awaiting the experts' opinion on the extend of the damage, I can only say the house seems to be standing but that the walls and floor of the upper level are very compromised. We might even need to destroy the upper floor, which implies a significant delay in when we'll be able to live here. More info on Twitter on that.

I do want to insist on the fact that, most of my Patreon is supporting me now for the game, that most of my commissions are actually sponsorships for the game. The game is my main focus in my job and my main if not only source of income. It's essential I deliver this update sooner than later otherwise I can tell you people are going to abandon me and lose interest in the project. This could destroy me as an artist. It's difficult to get back to full time when I still have to go back and forth to the house, feeling emotionally broken and having little privacy in the place I'm currently staying at. That being said, the game is my passion and I do not want to let it die, especially because there's not that much work to do before it's ready :p That would be frustrating to let it sit when I've already done so much for it.

I will make sure not to overwork myself, I wouldn't be capable of doing so any ways, after a 3 to 4 hours I can barely think. But even if it's just 4 hours a day, it's enough to keep momentum.  I know you really want to prioritize my health and I thank you so much for it, but don't worry, I've got this <3

I never thought this would happen to me, I feel a bit caught off guard by all the sudden support and kind messages. It feels so reassuring that when something this bad happens, people can be so supportive. Thank you ! I will do my best to recover swiftly and I hope hurricanes will chill the fuck out when they come by your place <3
