16x16 instead of 32x32

Hey there. Granted, im not an artist but im using a 16x16 base in my game, which means the smallest tile is 16x16 pixels. i now bought your osaka set that claims to be 32x32, just like the jrpg characters but the jrpg characters are basically made up of one tile width (+-) and 2 tiles heigth, which would mean that they are usable for 16x16 base games.

and the osaka set is fit to this so its basically 16x16, at least how i understand it. Take the flagpole for example. its 2 tiles high and 1 tile wide, just as the characters so they are 16x16. maybe you want to include in your description that they would be working for 16x16 as well

Heya TheGaijin87!

I'm glad you are able to use this set with a 16x16 grid to your satisfaction!

My Japan Collection tilesets were specifically created at 32x32 to achieve a certain style since I was generally locked to that dimension to depict an object. The issue I have with labeling this usable at 16x16 is that I believe people expect a full tile to be 16x16, for example, a door tile being its own unique 16x16 tile as opposed to being made up of several tiles. I have a tileset created at base sized 16x16 tiles (https://guttykreum.itch.io/clean-city) for a goal of having a different style (more simple due to less space to work with).

yes ive seen that one but the problem with this is (at least for me) that everything is too small :D

like when my base character is 2 tiles high and 1 tile wide (like the ones in your jrpg kit) then a door with 16x16 is of course too small. and as humans are generally taller than wide i find the 32x32 sets of yours to be a better fit. probably depends on the personal definition of base tile size though. just thought id let you know. i bought a bunch of the 32x32 though and am looking forward to make them ready for my game :)

Thank you for the explanation, and for reaching out with your thoughts BTW! Feel free to send any screenshots of your game my way, I'd love to see how the tiles work in your project as you progress.
