Advice on selling assets? [pixel art]

Hello everyone, I've been doing free asset packs for a while but unfortunately I'm now in need of income and the only jobs that I've found online as a freelancer are very few and far between, I want to be more formal about my work and start selling assets so I have a couple of questions but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Where I am right now:

I'm mostly uploading free assets on itch.io and I've seen people earn a decent income (at least from the country where I'm from) I'm about to try my luck with some paid assets, and while I have some followers most of them are in there for the free assets (I assume) so I feel like if I start uploading paid assets on my main account it may be a little unfair but at the same time I kind of want to use what I have at my disposition.

Questions:

- What would be an appropriate price for pixel art asset packs? (I've seen prices form $1.00 up to $30, one example would be the popular asset pack "sunnyside" and I'm aiming to something similar regarding the amount of assets and level of detail)

- Can I grow an audience that purchase my content? (this website is the only one where I have been kind of successful at growing an audience with my work so I feel like maybe I'm having unrealistic expectations while looking at people who upload their work here, maybe the people that supports them come from other places so I'm a little afraid of asking for something like $30 dollars for my work without an audience, I'm gonna try my luck anyways but any advice with this particular question would be great)

Thanks for reading, English isn't my first language so sorry if there's any errors :P

Price:   There's no rule.  It depends on what's in your pack.  Keep in mind if you price something at $30, you can always discount it to $15.  If you price something at $1 you can't discount it - well people do, but itch.io has a minimum payment of $1 - so any price below that is nonsense.

Followers:  It's not important why they follow you - they did, and if they don't like something they can unfollow you.   Just keep in mind that just because you have x amount of followers doesn't mean that many people will go look at anything you post.

You might consider placing your assets in more stores, especially if it's designed for gaming in the Asset stores of the different software, like Unity Asset Store,

Sales - I think for every person who has done well, there are probably 1000 people who've sold nothing.  There might also be something to do with the circle of friends or network the person is in or they made something that captured the imagination.   But that shouldn't stop you from trying.

I wish you the best of luck!
