Cows stopped working

I am fairly deep into my game and have had my wood production set up for some time already. I had bots set up to collect milk and then some to collect the dung. Now after completing my porridge system I check back over at wood area and it's grinded a to hault. Because my cows have stopped eat/moving. I'm aware they need to be milked but there is no ! Above their head. If I pick cows up and replace they will continue to work for a very short period then stop again. Any help?

Just got the same problem, my cows stopped eating grass directly after eating cereal. If you let them eat enough cereal then put them back to grass it will hypothetically fix it.

Just tested it, if you let a cow eat a single bit of cereal THEN pick it up then it will reset to normal. If you pick it up while it's eating cereal, it will not eat grass (and probably vice versa).

You've probably got some crops or straw nearby. They love crops and straw :) There's a bug where, if they see some crops/straw but can't reach it they get stuck. Best solution until then is to make sure your cows are far enough away from your crops. Thanks

Thank you this seemed to be the issue. I moved fert production to a further field from cereal fields and seems to have solved it
